Does anyone here ever think about Pib Neverafter
#bc i do :(((#oughhh#he didnt do enough to save tomas so he remade himself to be better suited for the purpose of protection#he refuses the title of a hero partially because he's Not a hero hes a Trickster. being called a hero is unbecoming#but also because he Wasn't a hero. he was in the title of his previous story. but he didnt save the actual main characters of it.#he did nothing to save them#and he loved them. he realizes. he loved them like a cat loves their humans#the more he realizes his nature the more he sees himself as a helper. a secondary force in someone else's story#and YET. the closer he gets to his new companions the more complex he becomes. the more he fights to protect them.#the more pain and sorrow and fear and love he feels#the more GUILT he feels over being a helper and failing to help#because his identity as a companion has always felt like a truer part of his soul than his identity as a trickster#I DONT KNOW. I DONT KNOW. thorws up#neverafter#pib neverafter#pib#his relationship with alphonse . hes disgusted by alphonse MIRRORING the exact same mentality pib himself used to have#(comfort over everything and nothing bad can touch me)#but he still empathizes with alphonse at the same time#bc he GETS it. he gets it. but last time he thought that way he lost his humans.#agrhh
