Pandemics do weird things to people. For instance, they can get them to draw something beyond a rough sketch for the first time in YEARS. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve done a proper digital piece of art since right before my wedding, and that was five years ago. And you know what? I enjoyed this. When I stopped “Alone in a Crowd” I was burnt out and in some ways kind of bitter. Ever since then any time I tried to draw I would end up getting super frustarted or dealing with terrible anxiety. But now I’m at a point where I think I’m ready to make art for fun again. It was very cathartic to draw these two lasses. No, “Alone in a Crowd” isn’t coming back as a regularly updating comic or anything. I just want to draw for fun, and making cool things. (I am getting the old AIAC archive up again though, for real this time). I guess without a proper comic, Hope and Faith are just my OCs now (as the kids say, hahaha). I think that’s a good thing for them to be :) This idea popped into my head based on also those drawings of characters doing the crazy leg stretch. Just seemed like something these two would do.
