Cyclopes - What’s your favourite joke?

Off the top of my head, I think it is the "diene-triene" jokes (yes, it's a science joke, don't judge me)

Part of the reason why I love this is because it is so relatable. That's really how it feels to study dienes and trienes (all of organic, tbh). (we made these jokes throughout the year, so this is the one that I remember the most out of all the jokes I've heard and made)

Yes, that absolutely sucks! But maybe look at it this way: unless the vaccine development is rapid, the majority of us will get the virus sooner or later which is a good thing (if you're healthy, of course!) because we get immune and reduce potential hosts and thus potential risk for those in danger.

My point is that at this point all non essential services should be shut down immediately. Why do the people who can work from home get that option to do their best to stay healthy while I have to continually put myself (and customers) in danger to make lattes? Every interaction avoided helps to flatten the curve. It’s still way too early to make the call as to whether or not getting the virus innoculates you. 

The way we protect people in danger is by staying healthy. Period. Especially since the illness is at least partially asymptomatic. The way we ease the burden on the healthcare system and reduce the potential for complication is by staying healthy. Once I know I should self isolate, it might already be too late.

Then again, if you ask Dionysos who gave her his thyrsus-of-approval he wouldn’t have suggested insults and hybris as a leverage to make Apollo raise his handsome, perfect rear from his throne. At least, not as a first option.

I don’t know your situation, so you may be right to be concerned, but covid-19 is not dangerous to healthy adults below the age of 60 without pre-existing illnesses <3

Absolutely. And I admit my privilege in all of this. But given asymptomatic spread, in my position I can quite easily be a carrier. Not to mention I don't want to get sick at all! I'm upset that I have to keep exposing myself at work and on public transit just so people can have their latte. Whether it's gonna be deadly to me or not, I shouldn't have to get sick in the first place! Especially when we know it's a danger and how to avoid it. Folks can make do with instant coffee in a crisis.
