I finally can share this with the community!

I’ve been studying abroad in Japan for the last year, and have slowly been going to each of the suitors’ castles. While I unfortunately wasn’t able to get to Masamune’s, Yukimura’s, or Mitsunari’s (and didn’t go to any outside of the original casts), I was able to go to every other! This took me 11 months to do!

The first I was able to go to was Osaka Castle, where Toyotomi Hideyoshi resided, in Osaka.

Next was Tsutsujigasaki Ruins, the former Takeda Clan residence, in Kofu.

The next was the Edo Castle Ruins, where Tokugawa Ieyasu established his reign, in Tokyo.

After that was Kasugayama Castle Ruins, which, of course, belonged to Uesugi Kenshin, in Joetsu.

After that was Nijo Castle, where the Tokugawa Shogunate officially started and ended, in Kyoto.

Then I went to Azuchi Castle Ruins, where Oda Nobunaga ruled, in Omihachiman.

Then, finally, today, I went to Fukuchiyama Castle, which Akechi Mitsuhide reconstructed, in Fukuchiyama. They even had an Ikésen cutout (which was sadly not for sale)! Mitsuhide is by and far my favourite suitor, with him holding a special place in my heart.

I wrote a fanfiction about a reincarnation story once, and ended up loving the character that was meant to be Mitsuhide’s previous life so much, that he’s actually become his own character and a main character in my book.

This was something that meant a lot to me, as Ikémen Sengoku was my first “real” otome, and what inspired my love for Japanese history. It was what led to me coming to Japan and studying the language for a year, and so I wanted to honour that by seeing the castles. It has been absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ve loved every second of it.

Whenever I play games especially otomes I always love picking duo or 2 fave characters at once. That being said, since I never played ikesen before & now ikesen eien is almost coming out, there are 22 characters to choose from, so I'm kind of confused on which 2 pairs shall I pick -

Should I go for Saizo & Kenshin?

Mitsuhide & Rikyu?

Or Shingen & Kanbei?

These 3 seems to be of my interest so far just by looking at them. I saw the standard cards of them & wow Shingen & Kanbei really have big abs & muscles, they must be oldest ones no?

Kenshin & Saizo looks like the mysterious quiet guys whereas Rikyu & Mitsuhide looks like the sneaky, flirty and trickery type.

Yet I don't know anything about these 6 characters. Any Idea how they are like? Also if I need to look out for any noncon/dubcon can you let me know that too?

Hello, Precious! I’m so excited for the new IkeSen app to come out next month! I keep going back and forth between which new warlord I want to start with.

@silkkorchid (chime in, please? 🥺) just posted a gentle CW about Rikyu’s route, though, so I may start with him just to see what’s going on. I still have my eye on Saizō, though!

When I played Eien (I selected pretty boy Yoshiteru), I didn’t get very far, so I only have a shallow impression of the new guys. I’ll be going in fresh alongside the rest of you lovelies.

From the warlords you have paired up, they seem to have slightly different personalities and mindsets.

Here is Kanbei’s official description:

“His seemingly gentle smile hides a mind that's impossible to decipher by human standards. A strategist who treats warfare as a mere game of life and death, he views humans as "cute playthings" to collect.”

Shingen is also a strategist, but war isn’t a game to him. He also doesn’t like overlooking the humanity in others, trying again and again to keep the spark of life from going out in his friends, Kenshin and Kennyo.

Shingen’s flirt mode is set to perma-lock, so it would be interesting to see if Kanbei is also a ladies man.

In Shingen’s route, he does the standard otome kidnapping, so you’re a hostage for a while.

As for the ages, there is no official age for IkeSen characters, but Shingen and Kennyo are considered the oldest of them all.

Here is Saizō’s description:

“A timid, pessimistic young man by day, but a lethal specter of death by night. He spares no one on the battleground―whoever crosses blades with him is beyond the point of no return.”

Kenshin is just as deadly on the battlefield, but where he is seriously and thoroughly convinced that he cannot be killed, Saizō is apologizing for still being alive, every chance he gets.

Kenshin isn’t really quiet or mysterious. He’s quite vocal about the things he dislikes, and is almost always issuing some manner of threat (usually to Sasuke, but Shingen also gets yelled at).

He’s pretty easy to tame, despite his yandere ways. Just tell him whatever cheapo alcohol you have is “the best thing ever” and he’ll believe because you said so.

No one would ever describe Kenshin a “timid,” but he is initially suspicious of your modern disposition and he is set in his maladaptive ways until your help him overcome some of them.

Kenshin does hold you captive for about 10 tickets worth of story (it might have been longer).

I get strong Ring-like puppy vibes from Saizō, so I’m really looking forward to playing his route. I want to uncover what happened in his ninja village when he was a child.

And finally, Rikyu and his unfortunate Scatman glasses:

“A flamboyant warlord renowned for his mastery of the tea ceremony. Beneath the gaudy decor, he manipulates information gleaned from others in the tea room to bring calamity and misfortune, all with a twisted smile on his face.”

Both Rikyu and Mitsuhide are shadiness personified, but Rikyu is more chaotic, while Mitsuhide is very calculated and controlled, regardless of what it personally costs him.

As one of the three (Sasuke and Ranmaru are the other two) characters who is in love with you regardless of who you pick, Mitsuhide firmly believes that, due to the nature of his work, he cannot be allowed to have someone like you in his life.

His heart doesn’t care about all of the logic his brain is trying to spit out, though, so he can’t keep himself from yearning.

Mitsuhide falls immediately, and he falls with the speed of an Indiana Jones-sized boulder going off a cliff. He’s not afraid of self-denial, however, so he’s prepared to love you from afar to keep you safe.

Mitsuhide’s route has the fake marriage trope, because you decide to be a stool pigeon and mess up his flow.
