I finally can share this with the community!

I’ve been studying abroad in Japan for the last year, and have slowly been going to each of the suitors’ castles. While I unfortunately wasn’t able to get to Masamune’s, Yukimura’s, or Mitsunari’s (and didn’t go to any outside of the original casts), I was able to go to every other! This took me 11 months to do!

The first I was able to go to was Osaka Castle, where Toyotomi Hideyoshi resided, in Osaka.

Next was Tsutsujigasaki Ruins, the former Takeda Clan residence, in Kofu.

The next was the Edo Castle Ruins, where Tokugawa Ieyasu established his reign, in Tokyo.

After that was Kasugayama Castle Ruins, which, of course, belonged to Uesugi Kenshin, in Joetsu.

After that was Nijo Castle, where the Tokugawa Shogunate officially started and ended, in Kyoto.

Then I went to Azuchi Castle Ruins, where Oda Nobunaga ruled, in Omihachiman.

Then, finally, today, I went to Fukuchiyama Castle, which Akechi Mitsuhide reconstructed, in Fukuchiyama. They even had an Ikésen cutout (which was sadly not for sale)! Mitsuhide is by and far my favourite suitor, with him holding a special place in my heart.

I wrote a fanfiction about a reincarnation story once, and ended up loving the character that was meant to be Mitsuhide’s previous life so much, that he’s actually become his own character and a main character in my book.

This was something that meant a lot to me, as Ikémen Sengoku was my first “real” otome, and what inspired my love for Japanese history. It was what led to me coming to Japan and studying the language for a year, and so I wanted to honour that by seeing the castles. It has been absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ve loved every second of it.

Mitsuhide's promise sale stories always hit different 💘

(spoilers ahead!)

Like wdym they get sent into the future via spontaneous wormhole again and he spends three years looking for her... and in the meantime manages to sell his story, buy himself an identity, start a successful fashion company, and gets contacts lined up to offer her work bc he knows MC still wants to be independent/work towards her passions... Doesn't victim-blame her and consoles her after getting drugged at some bar she accidentally went to to wait for him (got the address wrong)... despite himself also needing consoling because he thought he'd lost her again and beat himself up over not being able to grab her hand in time and had no idea where she ended up thanks to the wormhole...

And then they both have talks about their future together and it's just so refreshing to see a suitor (especially one known for being shady lol) actually be pretty straightforward/mature with their affection and intentions (even with all his teasing yes), and be allowed to be in a more peaceful setting together too :,)

Thank you for coming to my tedtalk– Still need to read the new one for this year (2026). But the motorcycle one and this one were just so damn good, ugh... I really need to finally do his Eternal route & Sequel TTwTT (haven't touched an ikesen route since kicho dropped iirc,,)

Masamune, Ieyasu, Mitsunari and Mitsuhide as Yanderes

Long time ago I did Nobunaga and Hideyoshi as Yanderes and was kind of unsure about it because it felt like I was rewriting their whole character :/ Well, here is Masamune, Ieyasu, Mitsunari and Mitsuhide which I also wrote back then :)

Masamune:

The yandere that dishes out threats and means it. If any guy talks to you, he will threaten to cut them down and goddamn, he will. However, he is 100% fine if you talk to girls.

Will let you do whatever you want but if what you want is to talk to other guys, he will pack up and literally kidnap you and relocate to a place with less or, more ideally, no guys.

If you push him too much, he will break you since he will still be content as long as you’re by his side. Whether you’re actually happy or not doesn’t matter to him if you keep acting up.

Isn’t afraid for others to know he’s a yandere. Cuts people down on the spot for even saying something bad about you.

What’s his is yours. If you concede to him, he will give you his all and more. That’s what love means to him.

Ieyasu:

The petty yandere that holds grudges

Executes revenge on pesky guys by adding too much chilli into their food. For the guys that are a bit more persistent, he waits for the moment they require medical assistance and strikes back.  

Snarky with you, but snaps at anyone else who tries to be snarky with you. He still has the same cold on the outside but fluffy on the inside attitude with you though.

Clingy level: max. Only problem is, he doesn’t like to hear that he’s clingy.

You can never tell what he’s thinking. You just know he loves you but behind your back, he’s always scheming to make sure you never leave him.

Mitsunari:

Pretty angel that is actually a devil. Doesn’t understand why he’s so possessive and needs you by his side.

He tells everyone. He tells Hideyoshi that there’s this explainable feeling that wells up in his chest whenever he sees you and he doesn’t know what it is. He enjoys watching you, being near you, he wants to touch you and hold you.

Everyone tells him it’s love, but they don’t know how twisted it actually is. Mitsunari believes them and excuses his selfish and clingy wants as his love for you.

Since he’s told everyone he loves you, everyone knows you’re his. But for that one oblivious person that doesn’t... well, goodbye. He’ll make strategy after strategy until you’re caught in his web and can’t leave him.

Mitsuhide:

The opposite of Mitsunari. His feelings are all bottled up, no one knows, no one can tell. He buries it deep in his heart until it feels like he’ll explode.

Competition is not an issue. They’re all gone before you know it. You’re his. You’re his. You’re his.

The fact that you’re Nobunaga’s lucky charm brushes him the wrong way. You should be his. Mitsuhide schemes and plots, finding a way to get Nobunaga out of the picture. 

You never knew Mitsuhide loved you until you were locked in his room, treated like his cute, little toy, protected from the raging war outside as Mitsuhide and Nobunaga fought over the kidnapping of an Oda princess.
