Dazai huffs. “You’re going to bleed out before you make it back.” It takes a step closer, darkness covering what little of its face was visible, rendering it nothing more than a phantom. Albatross swallows thickly. He could step back, but there’s nowhere else to go, and Dazai will catch him regardless. So he remains still even as Dazai closes the distance between them. It reaches out a hand, and Albatross wonders if this is what it feels like to die.
