Am I not the only one not taking Lotor's general's 'betrayal' at face value?

Acxa made a point of saying that he 'will protect us'. A mock betrayal seems like the perfect way for him to do this. All the while they continue his work in secret while he infiltrates the Voltron team.

There's also unanswered questions:

- what happened to the scaultrite that Acxa collected?

- What really happened when they went through the portal at Daibazaal?

- Why did Lotor want to be demoted?

- Why is he still so sure of himself?
