who wants to join a fandom for a book series that doesn't exist yet but i'm writing that contains:

a mixed Black FMC with pansexual tendencies and also magic

a desi lesbian with a younger transgender brother. they are also magic but hers is gone for reasons. also she's a butch

yaoi but make it doomed and toxic. one of them is magical, and the other wants magic but doesn't have it

awesome asexual bisexual psychic with a transgender boyfriend who has fire powers

aroallo nonbinary and an aroace woman in a QPR relationship. doomed platonic love my beloved

intersex genderfluid unlabeled teenager who's best friends with the transgender younger brother to the aforementioned lesbian

one of the men in the doomed yaoi has an older transgender lesbian sister who bullies him affectionately and has rainbow magic. her brother’s magic is the ability to control any liquid

the mixed FMC looks just like her mother, who had a brother and whose daughter looks just like the FMC’s mother as well (by which i mean facial features/body types, they're all Black but the FMC has lighter skin + hair than her mom and the cousin has darker skin + lighter hair than her aunt. did i mention the cousin is a sapphic woman with a baby daughter)

i am obsessed with and in love with all of my characters and i regularly draw them over at @i-put-the-art-in-autism

just realised that my book is like. a goddamn bingo card for representation. nonbinary person, aromantics, asexuals, transfem demigirl, transmascs, lesbians, pansexuals, bisexuals, gays, QPR, multiple POC including the MC, neurodivergence, physical disabilities (both magic-related and non-magic-related) am i missing anything

okay so. alex grew up alongside his identical twin harriet in an upper class household where their parents and eventually older brother worked alongside the government. their parents are very much transphobic, homophobic and kinda racist even though they don’t outright say they hate trans people (or any other groups, key word being “outright say”), they just forced harriet and alex to be hyperfeminine their entire childhood. this meant it took alex a long, long time to realise that he wasn’t actually a girl.

also his brother and sister were always favoured by their parents growing up, so when he felt gender envy towards his older brother he thought he was just jealous because their parents preferred him over alex.

altogether, it took him about 15 years to figure it out (and he spent the later 3 of those thinking he was a lesbian) and then another year to come out to exclusively harriet. the next day they ran away from home together to join the resistance.

in terms of alex’s transition, the first thing he ever did was attempt to bind his chest (unsafely so, to anyone reading this do NOT do this) by wearing two sports bras at once. he uh. did this for a while even after joining the resistance.

the second thing he did to transition was actually getting harriet to help him cut his hair. it was choppy and messy but he cried because he was a sixteen-year-old trans boy who could finally look in the mirror and see himself how he felt on the inside.

once he and harriet got to the resistance, he found the doctors there and asked what they could help him with. on the resistance’s next raid he got his supply of T, and he got top surgery when he was 19.

extra fun fact: he’s also kind of a role model for zac because harriet & rhynn (zac’s big sister/guardian) are friends, so zac spent time growing up around harriet and consequently alex. it also lowkey cracked zac’s egg because he knew sooner than alex did at that age that he could be a boy if he wanted to.
