I just wanted you to know I appreciate you and love your take on the slow build/burn.

Oh, thank you! I feel very strongly about good writing and the fact that people can’t simultaneously ask for a slow burn get mad when that’s exactly what they’re given. In a world where there’s been a major uptick in shows with 8-10 episode seasons (especially when you throw in the ability to binge watch even those when a season drops in one fell swoop) I think part of the problem is also that people have lost the capacity to be reasonable about longform storytelling. Because yeah, if this were an 8-episode season and not an 18-episode one, all the outrage and complaining and despair about how “they’re not addressing their trauma” or “they’re never going to go canon” might make at least slightly more sense, but as it is we are barely 1/3 of the way through the season, and if someone has managed to watch the last six episodes and not pick up on the fact that all of this is very deliberate building tension and storytelling that will come to a head when the time is right for an explosive catharsis…idk what to tell them.

It’s all getting there! Something will probably happen by the midseason that will open up 5B for either the fallout from that or something new and something will almost definitely happen by the S5 finale twelve whole episodes from now because that’s how they roll. So yes, let’s all sit back, take a breath, and enjoy the ride. I’m having a blast!

UGH headcanons are hard bc i dont really have any headcanons but i do have things i like to imagine the characters actually do so im just gonna do that lol

LS - owen has definitely taken mateo golfing or gone to see a marvel movie with him (or both) for father-son vibe activities because he 100% sees mateo as his child

OG - bobby and may do father daughter date nights both casual and dress up like they go bowling and get milkshakes but also he cooks and they just have a nice dinner and talk and ugh BOBBY IS SUCH A DAD TO THOSE KIDS
