once again, I really don't think abigail has a crush on eddie. she wants to fill the niche of a child in his family, which is a problem, because she's 18 now. so she can't be fostered or adopted by eddie, but she's still trying to strongarm herself into that role. the thing no one is considering is that this is a girl who wants a new family, and once she gets attached to eddie she thinks she's found one. I could see her being jealous of CHRIS, actually, not alex. alex is royally fucking up her job, and I think maybe abigail just doesn't like her much because of that. but chris? he's got everything abigail doesn't: a dad who cares and loves him, a home to go back to, and a good childhood, as far as she knows. she wants that. kidnapping him isn't going to get her that, but she thinks she can get herself into an older sister role (which would have been easier with a younger kid) in helping out. eldest daughters are parentified all the time, and older siblings are asked to pick up younger siblings from school all the time, too. that would be a perfectly normal thing for an actual older sister to do. she's not that, though, and she is crossing a boundary and kidnapping a kid
