Amber Waves beer walk

On Friday, May 16, 2014, Delano will host the first Amber Waves fundraiser for Starkey, Inc. Thirteen participating shops will host participants, each offering a specialty beer and appetizer. Starkey is Sedgwick County’s oldest non-profit, serving almost 500 people with disabilities by offering day programs, 45 group homes, and on- and off-site employment.

The beer walk will begin at tents in the parking lots of The Monarch and Ruben’s Mexican Grill, where participants will receive an identifying lanyard. They are then free to circulate among the shops, spread over four blocks of downtown Delano, sampling beers and shopping. Tickets are $50, and can be purchased online.

Participating shops are: All Things BBQ, Apron Strings, Bell Carpet & Flooring, Bicycle X-change, Bluebird Arthouse, Bungalow 26, Melange Custom Jewelry, Skeletons Out of the Closet, Sugar Sisters Bakery, Sweet Cheeks Boutique, The Chocolate Fountain, Twist Yarn Shop, and What’s Brewin’.

Volunteers are needed as well, and will receive a free T-shirt. Both participants and volunteers must be 21.
