The gash in her stomach was painful but it would heal. She just didn't want the other to see it happening and realize she wasn't human.

Perhaps there was something going on. War on Hell or some other deal.]

Sage shakes her head, “I’m fine, really.” Her voice is bland. She’s lying and she’s okay with it, but only a little bit. Sage doesn’t want to draw a lot of attention to herself and she isn’t used to being treated like a human. She shakes her head again, “I really am.” It’s partially to convince herself at this point.
