Recovery thoughts
Sometimes I think recovery is like one of those carnival games where all the pieces are moving and you have to try to get a ball through a hole. The size and location of that hole are changing all the time, and you could throw the same ball at the same spot 1000 times and maybe once if you’re lucky the ball will go through. Things are working on my recovery that failed a thousand times before. People would tell me the same things, I would use the same tools, I could work with the same professionals, and none of it got through.. until it did. I’m writing this to remind me and anyone else who might need it to keep on throwing those balls. Just because it didn’t work once or twice or 6000 times doesn’t mean it can’t work eventually. The hole just has to line up. But you have to keep throwing those balls, trying those tools. If you throw a cascade of balls, eventually one will find the hole. Eventually recovery will get through to you.
