When you’ve been vegan for over 2 years and you realise your former fave treat was vegan the whole time… #almostrawfullyvegan #abundance #indulgence #chocolate #vegan
Troll of the day
- Have you any idea how much water it takes to produce just one pound of meat??? - But the cows would drink the same amount of water even if we didn’t eat them.
- Well, could you please think this over?
When there's a blackout in the gym and people realise that all they need for a good workout is their bodies and 4 square meters - priceless.
Today is my 2 year veganniversary
But it feels like as if it was yesterday that I went vegan and on the other hand, I don't even remember why and how I could eat animal foods. People claim that this lifestyle is extreme but I think this is the most obvious choice ever.
Almost 2 years vegan
I went vegan on 25th May 2013. I remember my last non vegan meal, it was a veggie quesadilla with cheese, sour cream and cheese sauce. I used to be such a dairy queen. In the summer of 2013, I would eat two cantaloupes for breakfast, blueberries before lunch, 8-12 peaches for breakfast, about 2 pounds of apricots in the afternoon and humongous salads with avocados and sun dried tomatoes in the evening. I became a fruitarian and I enjoyed my life so much. That time, I didn't have a job and I had all the time in the world for munching on fruit, experimenting with vegan and even raw vegan recipes, exercising and sleeping to my heart's content. In January 2014, I got a full time job. First, I tried to stick to my raw till 4 fruitarian diet. I would exclude myself from socialising with colleagues because I didn't want to eat cooked food at lunch time. I made my diet an absolute priority over my social life. This had to change. Soon, I found myself in my vegan junk food era. I would eat anything that was vegan, such as vegan pizza, french fries, veggie burgers, crisps, oreos, vegan ice-cream, greasy stir-fried noodles, soy products, vegan cheese, etc. It took me quite a long time to create a balanced, healthy and yet maintainable and reasonable diet plan. These days I eat fruit and drink smoothies in the morning but oatmeals are OK, too, I eat soups, salads, pasta or sushi for lunch and hummus, avocados, veggies and some wholegrain bread for dinner. I still eat super healthy and I am quite conscious about my choices - compared to others living on standard diets - but my whole life is no longer around food. I'm aiming at keeping things this way.
I sometimes get asked if I eat as much as Freelee the Banana Girl and if I think it is possible that she does eat this much indeed. No, I don't eat as much as she does. And yes, I believe she does eat as much as she claims to. However, even if I don't think she exercises compulsively, she is incredibly active. Although she eats 2800-3500 calories a day, she must burn at least 1000 calories off. Not even the healthiest plant based diet can abolish the laws of physics. If your intake is significantly higher than what your body needs, you will gain weight.
I definitely need to stop swearing. When I found out how long the queue was at the grocery store, I murmured to myself 'fuck me' and a random stranger replied 'I'd be happy to'.
