hey ya'll, I wrote a fanfic!

it's a little one-shot where John visits Dirk and meets Alpha!Dave (in an au where the guardians are revived). it's not the best story I've written but it's a good start for not having written anything in over a year.

just thought I'd share and if you read it, I hope ya'll enjoy. I wanna write more with the revived guardians but idk if I will, but we'll see.

Hi there! I've seen your posts in the daverose tag once in a while, and I just read "Let's Never Meet." It's great and beautiful and I love it and you should totally continue because those two need more love!

Gotta take a short break from my scourge-induced joy paralysis to answer this.

First of all thank you so much! Like, dang, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a tumblr message to compliment one of my fics!

While I’m not sure Let’s Never Meet will continue, as the upd8s have been born of spontaneous urges, and at this point continuing would actually have to include legit planning, you can probably always expect more daverose content from me. I am irrevocably attached to this ship. It has sunk its way into my bones.

If you want more daverose while you’re waiting for me to figure out how/if to proceed with Let’s Never Meet, almost all my other fics on AO3 include them.

Specifically working in tandem with Let’s Never Meet: 

Relative Distance & Relative Stability, two short pieces about Alpha!Rose.

The way I wrote Rose’s backstory in our Alpha!DaveRose Collab round entry is basically also my headcanon, and you can mostly put Let’s Never Meet in-universe with In Our Bedroom After The War. 

Speaking of that collab entry, if you’re into daverose, go read Against All Odds, by PhalthoGreen/ freudianbullshit on tumblr. And then go read all her other fics. We were old RP partners, any decency at writing Dave comes from me writing notes about how she does it. beloved-monsters also does a great Dave (and has definitely massively influenced how I write mine), but he doesn’t really have any daverose stuff I could link you to unless I leaked our old logs, which would be a dick move.

I think maybe the thing is I’m so used to writing this ship in collaboration that it’s really weird for me to plow through it on my own. Maybe someday I will publish the definitive alpha!daverose novel, then change the names 50 shades of grey style (except instead of being about abusive BSDM it would be about being the hero displaced from the story, surviving PTSD, queer coming of age, bullshit humor, and finding true love across multiple lives), but it is probably not this day.
