The Binder's take on Cheetor and Rodimus - I actually like them thanks to it

Cheetor...I can hardly believe they made him so standout from his original depiction. I mean, he literally doesn't get caught in the Binder's outline, whereas in Beast Wars he could barely go two episodes without landing himself in the clutches of the enemy. And his arrogance and nobility being a sort of tug-of-war over his personality, insofar as it's hard to discern his true nature under his cocky, self-assured exterior....dang, that's what Arcee thought Smokescreen was. Heh, I can see them going at it hammer and tongs.

His precognition actually getting addressed is a relief, because I still don't know what the point of it was in the cartoon itself. I can see this version of Cheetor becoming Alpha Trizer more easily than his BW counterpart, and now I wonder how I could/can work that whole upgrade thing into his arc.

And now I have an idea of Cheetor going on travels with the Autobots in his past after a chance encounter with Jetfire/Skyfire via the latter's transwarp drive....that'd be a fun arc for him and Smokescreen actually, hmmm....

Okay, I already have set plans for Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in my AU, and while he's been dead for some time...I think I can take a version of the Binder's idea of him and spin him into a new character. Make him an orphan from the streets who survived on his guts into young adulthood to become an Autobot after Megatron declares war. His arrogance and ego - more tempered, since he's not a leader or even trying to become one - are gonna be the result of his pride from handling himself as well as he did before everything went to Pit. Upon joining, he takes the name Rodimus because of the reputation he had, and because he looked up to the Prime during the few times he got to learn any kind of history.

That wasn't shrouded in vagueness, that is.

He's also just A Guy. Like he's part of a squad of sorts in the background, but tries to clean up a lot of messes he and his crew get mixed up in. Until Clobber joins, he's basically surviving on energant to function.

I don't believe it, the Binder really did make me love two characters I can rarely, if at all, stand.

Dear Evac Evaluator,

No, the Evac of that universe was not a member of the Knights of Cybertron. In fact, he bore a great resemblance to the Evac that I came to know during my time searching for the Cyber Planet Keys alongside Optimus Prime and the Autobots, transforming into a blue and yellow rescue helicopter. He was one of the many who called for reforms and the end of Functionism alongside Megatron and his followers. However, he was disgusted when the planet erupted into war, and ultimately left Cybertron with many of his fellow Cybertronians, under the leadership of Metalhawk. Upon the war’s conclusion, he returned to Cybertron with his fellows, but was among the few who did not support Starscream as leader, as he remembered living as one of the Seeker’s constituents prior to the war. He survived the various crises which befell Cybertron, including the coming of Unicron, and came to settle down on Earth, where he ultimately partnered with the United States Coast Guard as part of a cultural exchange between the United States and Little Cybertron.

I do, however, know of another incarnation of Evac who served as a Cybertronian Knight. A young warrior from a technorganic Cybertron who possessed both helicopter and assault buggy modes, Evac's skill as a swordsman saw him recruited by Knight Commander Ginrai into his elite order of Cybertron's defenders. Noble, idealistic and selfless to a fault, Evac's personality clashed heavily with his fellow recruit, the grim and pragmatic Crosswise… which is why everyone was confused when Alpha Trizer advised that they be partnered together on an ongoing basis. However, the sage's wisdom proved itself as Evac and Crosswise came to appreciate each others' philosophies as complimentary, not opposed; these days, the duo are known as some of the finest combatants in the galaxy, Crosswise's sonic disruptors and Evac's rotor-blade working in concert to bring evildoers everywhere to justice.

The end of 2016 marked Fun Publication’s contract with Hasbro for Botcon, and all throughout 2017 Fun Pub has been trying to sell of their remaining inventory, and I got Alpha Trizer for about $15. (back when it still existed during the latter half of 2017)

An Alpha Trion repaint of 2012’s Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Alpha Trizer is part of the Knights versus Pirates story from Botcon 2014.

And come to think about it...2014 was also the year of Transformers: Age of Extinction, and I think the the Dinobots were part of the Knights of Cybertron, so I guess Hasbro must have pushed that theme onto Botcon as well.

Beast mode: 

Well for starters I’m pretty sure the 2016’s TF Titans Return Alpha Trion was inspired by Trizer here, (as well as 3H’s original plan for a Beast Machines Botcon 2002 Snarl repaint of Alpha3, which never happened) 

Alpha Trizer is a lion, and a really awesome lion at that. He comes from a post-Beast Machines era, and he looks like he’d fit right in with that aesthetic from that line, so I have no problems with that.

The lion sculpt looks good, but the beast mode over all has limited range of motion.

The lion head has no moving jaw, and the from legs don’t really mode above the knees. The hind legs and ankles have some posability, and it’s fine I suppose.

The lion mode has a lot of cool fins and stuff sweep towards the back of the beast mode, and we see a cool Autobot Knight stamp on the left side.

Transformation (for me) was a little tricky at first; I was having trouble understanding how the arms transformed, but once I got it was easy afterwards; so I’m going to say it was a fairly transformation now.

 Robot mode:

Wow, what a cool robot mode! Or should I say transorganic mode....which I’m not going to say that...

But that Alpha Trizer is pretty neat. His deco has a lot of pinks, reds, and whites, very similar colors to Alpha Trion. He looks very regal, and elegant, and has an overall good look to him.
