I mean first off something being a deconstruction requires knowledge of the source material and urobuchi self admitted he knew jack fucking shit about the magical girl genre and did not watch anything in preparation. but that aside oh my god it is not a deconstruction. it's not. 'things are shit' is not a deconstruction

urobuchi wanted to write his grimdark ryuki fanfic sooooo bad but he probably realized if he made it as a toku-inspired anime everyone would immediately see it as a ripoff so he was just like “okay well i’ll just do it with magical girls and then nobody will make the connection im so innovative and brilliant” 

and yeah, just because something is grimdark doesnt make it deep. its not that hard to write grimdark stuff if thats all you’re going for. i haven’t read it myself but i’ve heard about an interview during gaim where urobuchi said that he doesn’t think stories through or come up with overarching themes, he just makes the characters struggle and their struggle becomes the story which....... is not how you should write a story

yeah. I personally like to think of the true pacifist end as chara getting to move on regardless of if the 'narration as chara' is true or not (barring if the data has been corrupted by another timeline). and if the 'narration as chara' is true/considered to be true, chara is encouraged in a Very different way in the no mercy route so it does make sense to me that they'd act differently

you’re right it does.......I’ve also read theories that “the demon” possessed the first child and that they’re different people so it could also be that the demon wins over both the first child and frisk in the no mercy route? and its the demon that talks like an anime villain maybe
