He could do whatever he wanted to do and he could go wherever his mind dreamt of, but of course it wasn’t that easy. He had obligations to the Thieves but his heart and mind was constantly with Ethan. He needed to be with him, he needed to be HOME but he couldn’t. If he could decide his own future it would be with Ethan, it would always be with him but he couldn’t, he couldn’t leave his group. “You know it’s not that easy” His voice was tired and his eyes stung from keeping the burning tears away from falling. “If I could drop everything to go with you, I would. You know that, right?? I would do anything for you but- but I can’t leave them, they need me”

Ethan whirled around when he heard the familiar husky voice speak to him. It was odd how his voice still reminded him of the old and familiar warmth he felt whenever he waiting for him to come home from work. It reminded him of the times he’d ask him why he was still up, even though he knew Ethan would wait for him, he’d always wait for him. “Hm. A proper way to repay me?” Ethan hummed with a satisfied grin spreading across his features.

He threw his chin up in a cocky manner, allowing his ocean blue eyes to rake up and down Ethan’s body. A simple gesture he always did after attacks to see if he was alright. To make sure he hadn’t been bit, or scratched. “And what on earth do you have in mind?” He wet his lips before pulling his old hunting knife out of freak that lay dead before him. The black goo dripping from it’s edge. He should feel bad for the poor soul who’s life ended because of him, but he didn’t. He didn’t because if he hadn’t been there Ethan could have died and he would have fought hell hounds to make sure that wouldn’t happen. “Are you going to order some food and watch a movie with me?” He let out a brittle laugh at the thought of that suggestion. Before the outbreak a takeout and a movie seemed so mundane, but right now the idea of watching a movie while eating and laughing seemed like a hopeless dream.
