Randomly thinkin about redstone and the entire concept about it

It’s an ore you find underground, but it fucking glows when interacted with. It’s not used for any kind of currency, nor can it be used as fuel or for enchanting. Apparently it’s some sort of electricity?? Players have managed to use it to create incredible machines, but then there’s the extent of what it powers. Sure, sure, different music disc have different levels of power, probably based on the music, makes sense. But then you get more into it. Cake creates power???? By different ‘levels’ of how much is eaten??? How does that create power?????? And when placed next to Dripleaf, a fucking plant, it forces it to stay up?? It effects plants??????

It’s also used in brewing. When used, it increases the time duration of a potion. Why? God knows. How does this connect to the fact that it transfers power???

Also just in general with how it looks in-game, hhhhow. Do you just,,,,,, make a dusty line? How does that work? How does it transfer power that way?? What if a sheep comes waltzing in and manages to mess up the line??? The entire project is ruined?? Just don’t build on a windy day?

Anyways the only thing more confusing about redstone lore is the goddamn machines people make with it
