Eric looked up at his Mum with his big, teary eyes, Filled with Desperation and Distress. He needed his Mommy, the one person in the whole world that loved him the most, that cooked delicious food for him and readt him bedtime stoeries till he couldn't keep his little eyes open no more. He needed his mum, who knew him the best.
He told the truth, he behaved like the good kid his mum wanted him to be, that dummy with pretty red hair accused him and hit him for no good reason, and the adults prefered to believe him instead of Eric. But his mommy was here, she will believe him and she was gonna defend him for sure. She promised to. Cuz he was a good boy.
Liane paused as she watched those big and beautiful brown eyes stared at her, expectant, full of unadultered trust. Directed at her. She wiped at the tears rolling down those plump cheeks, softly and with the care you treat a delicate flower, and with a apologetic smile, she got up, placing herself in front of the other parents and teachers, her little cherub completely hidden behind her.
"I'm really sorry my Eric did that, i don't know what's gotten into him... maybe he's going through some growth, i promise he's such a good boy normally" Using her sickly sweet voice she looked at each adult, doing her best to appease them. "I'm really sorry"
Eric, feeling small, confused and betrayes, stared blankly at his mom as she apologised profusely, even lowering her head to those... Those liar liars pants on fire! Why? Why didn't she believe him? She told him to always say the truth because otherwise he would be like Pinocchio and he did! Then why his mommy didn't believe him? Why didn't any of the other adults did? Why did they believe the liar? Maybe that's why that freckled nose was so big, cuz he said lies!
He then looked at the kid in question, he was making the same face his red haired mama did, and Eric didn't know what that meant, but it sure felt nasty! That mas the same face so many people made at them, Eric hated it!
His frown deepened, his face reddened even more, and he pulled at his mamas clothes. It wasn't fair! He wasn't the liar, His mum didn't have to apologise! That kid had!

A little while after his fifth birthday Eric finally understood, that while there were people you could look up to, there were other people you can look down at. He also figured out like the smart boy he was, that he and his mama were the latter. Kinny, his Best Friend (Please don't tell Clyde Frog) was like him too. Was it because smelled? But Kinny was nice, he listened to him and always agreed to play games with him. Did Eric smell too? He didn't think so, his mama always smelled wonderful and sweet, like the delicious pastries she made.
But as his mama continuely apologised, bowed and ridiculed herself needlessly, Eric decided he wasn't. He was gonna become someone big, someone respected, someone to look up to.
