He had come from far, far away, another world with another Solver.
Faun was proof the Absolute Solver could not just be defeated by mankind, but domesticated. He was sent in a cage to the manor.
Human gazed at him, as he clung to perches and tried to find any sort of hiding place, shaking in fear at the humans.
The light caught the blue luster in his wings, his nanite acid stinger, eyes, and lights also a beautiful cobalt blue.
He'd only find any sort of peace when dancing, balancing on hand canes or twirling silvery hoops, listening to the music and ignoring the gazes of others.
Was it a show of the humans threatening aggression against any deviant Drones?
hmm. a little too far south for a proper spider-kiss, me thinks

there was supposed to be a wedding. a small one but a wedding nonetheless. he’d been getting himself excited for it. telling himself this was the start of something brilliant, trying to make himself believe this is what he’d wanted. but she’d seen through him. laura was good like that. they’d met at shield. clicked as friends and he’d thought they worked as romantic partners.
clearly that wasn’t the case. two weeks before the big day and she’d sat him down to tell him they couldn’t do this. they couldn’t get married. it wasn’t fair to either of them to try and force what wasn’t there. that had been a slap in the face. he hadn’t thought he was forcing anything but...after a week of reflection, it was clear that he was. he loved laura but he didn’t love her. and she’d known that. could tell that his heart was long gone with someone else. that he didn’t have it to give away anymore.
he wishes he did. he’s sorry he doesn’t. god, laura, he’s sorry.
of course, that leaves him with two plane tickets and a hotel reservation in venice for ten days. seems a waste not to use them. and that’s how he got here. in front of natasha. trying to explain that he’s no longer getting married and he’d very much like it if she’d go on his honeymoon with her.
❝——————Long story short, wedding’s off and I’ve got these tickets. I could sell ‘em but I thought....we both deserve a vacation. The world’s been pretty quiet. What do you say?❞ he waves the printed off tickets in front of her, the departure date two days from now. if she says now then...he’ll go ahead and try to sell him or maybe just go alone. ❝You can have the bed...❞

“Listen kid I already told you to get lost. Do you really want to piss me off?” On one hand Jihae felt bad for someone so dependent on the substances he provided, but on the other there was nothing he could do when someone didn’t have the funds to pay him for them. It wasn’t like he was Mr. Rich himself, giving things out for free didn’t help him in any way. Jihae was almost about to just go home and save himself the annoyance when things took a more dangerous turn. Some innocent person was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, stuck between an irrational druggie looking for his next fix and a dealer who wasn’t giving it out for free. Before Jihae knew it the kid had the stranger on the other end of a knife, hoping a hostage would make things turn around in his favor; and that’s exactly how it was going to play out, too.
The yelling was the worst part, the needless threats and the desperation his tone held as he made his demands. This was one of the reasons Jihae carried a gun on him during meet ups, but when it came to the lives of others, of people who simply weren’t involved, he wasn’t able to justify using it when it put them at risk. All too easily Jihae handed over the drugs, reaching to pull the stranger away out of danger the instant the kid turned to run with his loot in hand. It was over just as quick as it had started, and honestly it was a good thing. The last thing Jihae wanted was people to get hurt because of him, and if he just had to take the hit this time around, it was worth it if it meant he didn’t end up getting someone killed. “They’re all fucking mental, I swear.” He muttered under his breath, looking the stranger over to make sure he was only emotionally battered from the experience. “You’re okay, right? Sorry, I didn’t expect him to try something like that. But hey, next time you see two shady dudes talking in a dark corner, take a different route, yeah?”

The message had reached across the globe, spreading loudly and almost indecipherable, like the last time. But now, even if the information was imprecise, at least the identity of the forwarder was clear for everyone. This could be no other than Mekare. Impossible to know if the ancient’s mind had taken the conscious decision to transmit this to everyone in the Blood or if the news had simply shocked her so that she couldn’t avoid it. However, if any event could shock an ancient like her, it would be this.
In the place in which The Queen and The King had last slept and finally awoke, that had since then for nearly thirty years remained forgotten, a Talamascan had awoken something. Someone.
Such had been the intelligence Bianca was able to gather from the dreams that had presented to her and the flow of messages in the minds of others. This happened in the north, and It had been Bianca’s wish to travel there as soon as she understood the news. If there were any clues to be found they would be there, certainly. Yet she didn’t travel north. The rumour mill also informed her Maharet had moved whoever responded to her into the search. Bianca went south. There would be nothing left in the ice.
It was late in the Andes. The tourists had left and the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu was now empty, completely quiet, sleeping in the darkness. Bianca stood there, in silence too, contemplative, as if paying the owe respect to the ruins and its marvellous mysteries. Far away she could see the distant lights of the city. The wind blew sharp and frisky. The good cold wind. It always reminded her of Marius. It had been centuries since she had last seen her maker...
She heard it then, a sound that startled her. After all these years, unmistakable. The low throbbing of an ancient heart. Not just any ancient’s heart. She turned around, searching the darkness. Her own heart beat loudly in her ears and her voice clogged her throat, the words too big to pass through. Father. King.

Hello beautiful people.
I’m a real person, too.
I still write and I’m very much alive and I’d love to share this with you.
WALLS: X
encircled by the shallow wall of rainbow molded resin:
i’ve got your chalk on my hands. you seem so open laying there on your back. a glimmer of sunrise in your eyes; that look of home.
let’s play a game: traverse across the wall in opposite directions & switch. i’ll try my best to barely touch you. arm’s length away, remember?
i like it when we both win.
chalk dusts your clothes. calculate the impending movements en route to the ceiling, laying on our backs looking up at the grey fluorescent ceiling --
“so, what have you been up to?”
what -- besides trying to forget you? arm’s length away, remember? “i mostly ride my bike.” let’s try something different. i observe your beta:
flexion. push and pull. tap and extend lovely poised toes.
when i stare down the final charge, you stretch out steady hands and tell me to go for it. still an arm’s length away, remember?
we each fall about four times before a victorious mantel over the roof.
