Radiostatic AU where a change in the timeline means Vox ends up with husk as a mentor in hell when he first arrived. Cut to a few years later and he’s horrified to learn that Alastor had Husk’s soul and tries to challenge him for it. Alastor says he’ll give Vox husks’s soul if he can become the strongest in hell, fully mocking the idea as a cruel impossibility except /oh/ this picture box has more potential than he gave him credit for and now Alastor is very interested in the old drunk’s protégé.
That night it had been Eddie's turn to drop the Rugrats back at their respective houses (The Hellfire boys take turns and sometimes Steve gets them) so he's not able to drive Chrissy but still tells her to meet him at his trailer after the game.
Chrissy doesn't have a car and she sure isn't going to ask Jason to drive her because one he just won the game so he's out partying and two she's pretty sure he'd kill Eddie. So she asks Steve who she was friendly with in school and had driven her home a few times before. Steve is happy to drive her since his date has abandoned him after he went to congratulate Lucas.
He has to drive Robin home too and we get a bit of Buckingham flirting (sadly this won't end well) before Steve and Chrissy arrive at the trailer park. Steve is wary about Chrissy going by herself so he says he'll wait outside and drive her home.
Shortly afterwards he hears the screams and runs inside to see the horror of Chrissy getting vecnaed. As soon as it's clear that this is very much the Upside Down and Chrissy can't be saved he grabs Eddie shoving him in the car and driving off. Eddie is too in shock to argue and once they're back at the Harrington house Steve calls a Code Red.
Magnus turned and Alec’s breath caught because somehow—foolishly—he had not expected the warlock to be so… ripped.
He was in a state of half-undress, his jacket and shirt discarded carefully upon the bed. A looser blouse was held in one hand and Alec watched as he pulled it on. Looking at him, at his muscular arms and his defined abs, Alec suddenly felt self-conscious about his own body, adjusting his flannel shirt to cover himself more.
“Alexander,” Magnus greeted, and the elongated version of his name sounded good coming from his lips. His voice was tainted however, dull somehow, and he kept his eyes low. “I’m afraid you’ve caught me at a bad time.”
“Are you okay?” asked Alec.
The warlock glanced away briefly, adjusting the ruffled neck of his shirt and crossing his arms over his chest, as if to hold himself together. “We found Ragnor.”
If Starscream got yoinked back to right before he killed Cliffjumper instead of to the arm/zombie debacle, how much more wack would things have been?
Excellent question... The complexity of the situation, to start, would be far more chaotic. Starscream’s spark entering his chassis the way that it did would be very noticeable to the mechs directly in front of him. Cliffjumper may have survived if Starscream had thought well enough ahead, but the point he had come to in that time period was critical. The focus (as much as it was on him) was interrupted by Skyquake becoming the more dangerous target. Because Starscream was disoriented and confused, and knowing what he was supposed to do next, if he had come in before Cliffjumper’s death he would have most likely followed through with ending the injured mech. Everything else? So much would have changed, but his alignment with the Autobots would have been very likely.
Imagine if the movie had started into motion like this rather than Shawn just showing up and being a jerk. This is gonna be written badly since I’m just throwing it out there before I gotta go someplace but whatever.
“They ripped us off,” a man quipped as he turned over a large computer chip in his hand, “this one’s already a third of the way full.” The chip’s red light pulsed slowly. Then again, that third seemed to consist of years’ worth of data. This was no ordinary memory chip, that much was certain.
Another man looked at the stats, rubbed his chin, then sighed. “Just clear it off.” Usually, wiping the memory of a chip could compromise its systems, but this one seemed capable of handling it. The memory was uploaded from one chip to a series of smaller, less stable ones; the events were hardly lost forever, but they weren’t exactly protected either.
Though they did the best they could, one name had imprinted itself in this chip’s memory so strongly that they couldn’t get it out despite their best efforts. Still, the girl needed storage. After careful deliberation, they sent it off to their client: Shawn.
It had been a few months since she got the new chip, and nothing particularly strange had happened. She was living the way she’d always lived, albeit with a slight attitude change that seemed to belong to the chip’s previous owner. But I suppose side effects were bound to happen.
She caught a glimpse of a man walking by. He seemed to be in a rush. The odd thing about it, though, was that he also seemed familiar. She knew she’d never met the man in her life, but she felt herself walking--no, running!--towards him. Before she knew it, she had lost any sense of control or comprehension of what was happening. Someone else had taken over.
“Michael!”
The man glanced up, confused. “Who are you?” He had never seen this woman before, that much he knew. So why was the subdued yet joyful glint in her eye so familiar as she rushed towards him? Why was he in no way scared? The strange woman had him stopped in his tracks.
The girl was seemingly too distracted to answer. “Michael, I found you!” she exclaimed with a smile as big as the sun. She took a close look at his face, eyes darting side to side as the joy blended with hurt. She started to reach out a hand, and Michael didn’t flinch.
“How do you know me?”
The familiar glint in her eye vanished, leaving a complete stranger standing in front of him. She was dazed, confused... the hand she had reached out slowly dropped to her side. Her eyes anxiously darted down and to the left, settling on the pavement next to him. “I... Don’t know.”
Dumbledore sent Severus to pick Harry Potter up instead of Hagrid at the very beginning, and Harry bonded with Severus first? Y'all know Severus would've went apeshit if he saw how Harry was being treated at Petunia's. The abuse. He already has a grudge against the hateful minger muggle...
Just a thought. I've got a little something started on it, but I'd be interested to see different people's ideas on what would've happened. :3
So I opened Fade-In to get some actual work done. Instead, I ended up writing an alternate beginning to THIS (11x02), because I excel at fucking around instead of doing actual work.
Now. I LOVE THIS, but... it could have been sexier.
