It's 3:13 AM in Boston and I can't sleep. One person will get me calling out the time.
I finally caught the fiction bug for the first time in years...
And somehow I don't want to write because much of the story takes place in Chicago and one of the protagonists is a Blackhawks fan. Is this justified being near Boston/a Bruins fan even though the other protagonist isn't? Or should I just man up and write? Help me...

and then you made reference to the song. i am saying the song is not about everything in the movie. of course its stupid to just riot. the song though is fitting.
I don't think we're understanding each other here Frances, so I'm just going to drop it.

still not what the song is about. they are trying to bind together the masses to fight for their rights. you’re putting the movie as a whole where people are using a song not implying that everyone go die. it is a call to the masses to join together
We still need organization though. Joining the people together is all well and good, Ben Franklin himself was a very vocal proponent of this. But the fact remains that it's simply not enough. Without firm organization, a riot of angry people, no matter how much of a moral high ground they have, will only lead to death and destruction. Do you see what is going on in the North Africa right now, what has been going on for about two years? Syria? Libya? Egypt? Tunisia? Do you see what is happening Brasil?
People are fucking angry, but the fighting isn't stopping, and the issues aren't getting solved.
Literally what I said when I made the first post is that I understand that you love Le Mis, but it isn't a good example to follow if you want to start a revolution. End of story, period at the end of the sentence.

the song isn’t about that
The song is about angry men following their passions rising up for something they believe in because it's the morally "right thing to do," but the simple fact of the matter is that spontaneous revolutions and uprisings such as the barricade and the June rebellion, hell, even the storming of the Bastille that I keep hearing people talk about in these posts too, don't historically end well.
They type of revolutions that historically end well are those like the American Revolution of 1776, where the people were so damn fed up with being pissed on by the British Empire that we formed a congress, thought long and hard about what we were doing, and then basically wrote a long and formal fuck you to the British saying enough was enough, and backed it up with guerilla warfare. We made the war too costly, both monetarily and morale wise, for the British to stick out, and we had a highly organized congress at the center of it throughout.
If you're going to revolt, you have to be smart about it. We need to organize en masse, not act on passions.

two people i knew were wheelchair users and did cashier jobs and they had like a platform put in the little cubicle area.
YEAH????? What kind of platform?? How did that help? Would it still work with a motorized wheelchair?? Those are typically bigger…
