really wish people stopped viewing romance as intervals to queerness. told my mom i was writing a queer roaring twenties era mystery and when i explained how the protagonist disguises as a girl to solve a mystery and likes it maybe more than the average man she was like “oh you mean more in like a trans sense.” in like a disappointed tone. like cmon if i meant it was a gay romance i’dve said so. trans stories are queer stories. aromantic stories are queer stories. gay stories that don’t include romance are queer stories. im sick of people ignoring the other facets of queerness for just the romance

i love earnestly calling my friends "sweetheart" and "darling" and "my beloved" and "babydoll" <3 life gets so much more fun when u break down the arbitrary walls between romantic and platonic

how badly would I get cancelled if I said that what a lot of you consider heteronormativity is actually amanormativity and as long as we place monogamous romance on a pedestal above all relationships we are not aboloshing these systems

Being aspec is so funny because I literally forget not everyone experiences and sees attraction (and, hence, attraction based experiences) the same as I do. And this goes especially for fandom.

Like, I'd see a sort of trend(??) in a fandom space, particularly with shipping, and think: "This doesn't make sense, attraction isn't that simple/doesn't work like that." "No that character isn't in love with that one because they find them aesthetically attractive. They still don't know anything about them or their personality!"

And, then I realise,,

most of these folks are allo.

For most of these folks, attraction does work like that and is that simple.

There's folks that do fall in love just from being aesthetically attracted/without knowing the individual(s) or their personality well. (I assume this stuff would entail things like 'hallway crushes' and 'airport crushes'... whatever those are...)

There's folks out there that are just like that.

And I'm not! And I forget that I'M an outlier.

i pity people who say “yeah it’s nice to see these two characters as friends but their relationship becomes so much more meaningful if you see them as romantic.” how has the dredges of the amanormative world poisoned you this bad? have you never had a friend or wanted a friend who changed your life for the better? or if you do i feel bad for them because of so obviously little you value them

Maybe im getting too aroace with it, but I love the way marriage works in tomodachi life 2. the number of people complaining about how "they're basically just normal roomates", while I'm over here like... yeah... and it's kinda awesome. I really don't see the need to make a distinction between the level of closeness between friendship, romance, and marriage. I honestly think the game perfectly shows that there is no real difference in a relationship after marriage, all it does is put a new socially recognized label on it.

I love that my Miis all live together and hang out and play, I love that there is no reinforcement of the nuclear family, I love that this game breaks the amanormative hierarchy of relationships
