People warn you what it’s like to meet people that you admire from a distance. Maybe they don’t match their hype. They’re not as nice as they appear. Maybe they’re stuck up.

This absolutely NOT the case with William Beckett

I got to see The Academy Is last night. And due to some crazy good luck and kindness, I had the time of my life doing so.

I was in another pit, for a band I’ve loved for 20 years.

I promise you I’ll love them even more this next 20.

Because I got to tell Will himself that I was so thankful for him and the chance to see him play. He took my hand and told me he was glad that I made it with the most sincere smile. There are no pictures of this. No “proof”. Just in a heart that’s full.

16 year old me had a MASSIVE crush on this man.

35 year old me is humbled to tears because of him.

Gives me hope to meet yet another person I admire and adore.

Let’s just have it NOT be in 10 years, though 🤭
