Went shopping on amazon for a new kitchen timer

If someone is really going to hard boil eggs for almost 40 hours, they should set another timer to remind them to add more water once in awhile.

Some Red-Hot Package Delivery Tips, Yo

Okay, probably being exceedingly obvious here and for those this would help, it might be too late in the season to help now, but because I deal with missing packages at my job all the time, I’ve got a couple suggestions. If you’re worried about packages getting delivered and left at your door and someone stealing it, you can sign up for delivery options for free with at least some carriers.

If you get shipments from another carrier, go onto their site and nose around a little, shoot them a message, or give ‘em a buzz, and you’ll probably find something similar for that carrier, too.

You sign up with your address and for most packages coming to that address, you can set how you want them to be delivered. Like, do you live in an apartment complex? You can have it set to go to the apartment office and signed for. Think it’s safer to have it left at your backdoor or garage? Set it to be delivered there. You have options for your delivery instructions, and UPS and FedEx will apply that preference for all your packages until you change it. With USPS, you gotta log in and set instructions for each package. It also helps you send out packages, stuff like that.

I’d definitely recommend registering with carriers you get packages from either way, but other things you can do to help yourself out are contacting your carrier with your tracking number to try to set up delivery options. If you’d like to require a signature for a delivery and your shipping address doesn’t have an apartment number, unit number, floor number, suite number, etc., you can enter in “Signature required” for Line 2 of your shipping address* -- which, okay, doesn’t ACTUALLY require signatures, but it’ll tell your deliveryperson you’re requesting one. It’s always up to your deliveryperson to decide if your package needs a signature or if it’s safe enough to just drop it off.

* WORD TO THE WISE: always enter your apartment number, unit number, floor number, suite number, etc., in Line 2 of your shipping address. Don’t shove it all in Line 1 with your street address. Shipping labels are only so wide, so if you scrunch it all together on Line 1, your apartment/unit/floor/suite number can get cut off, not appear on your label, and mess up your delivery. You don’t know how many packages get sent back because of this. Line 1 is for your street address, Line 2 is for additional info. Also, abbreviate where you can, e.g.“W” for “West,” “Rd” for “Road,” “Ste” for “Suite.” It’ll help all your shipping information stay on there, and it also looks slicker and all us Customer Service peeps will think you’re hella hip when we’re helping you with your order.

Does anyone else have trouble with Amazon.com getting your order right? Because my brother tried to order me a PSX memory card as an early Christmas gift, but somehow I ended up with a Wii-mote accessory. 

Is it only like this during holiday seasons, or just all the time?
