30th Anniversary Ideas
These are all ideas for how Tecmo Koei could celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Dead or Alive franchise and, by extension, the formation of its development studio, Team Ninja. All of these events, announcements, and/or products would serve to keep the brand alive and well, whilst honoring the memory of its recently deceased creator, Tomonobu Itagaki.
In order for this to be done, nothing about the brand must be censored to appease shareholders, special interest groups, or those who other are not and were never going to be interested in engaging with DOA in the first place. Those people are not important. The fans are.
Dead or Alive: Dimensions 2 (Nintendo Switch 2, Sony PlayStation 5, Steam, Amazon Luna)
A game that, like the first Dimensions, retells the DOA saga, this time from DOA 1 to DOA 5 and all the notable events in between. An amiibo of Kasumi would be released for the Switch 2 version.
Dead or Alive 6: Ultimate (Microsoft Xbox Series, Sony PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam)
DOA 6 as it is meant to be: fierce, epic, sexy, Fighting Entertainment! Including two returning fighters – Leon and Shiden – and all previously released DLC. An amiibo of Hayabusa would be released for the Switch 2 version.
Dead or Alive 7 (Microsoft Xbox Series, Sony PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam)
It all comes down to this. The final phase of Victor Donovan’s plan is put into motion, and the world will never be the same again.
Dead or Alive: Code Chronos (Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, Mobile)
What were the lives of Kasumi & Ayane like before the Dead or Alive tournament? This action RPG would explore their untold stories, one of light and one of darkness. An amiibo of Ayane would be released for the Switch version.
Kasumi, Honoka, and Nyotengu added to Warriors: Abyss
Nyotengu DLC chapter for Nioh 3
Collaboration Events
DOA characters being added to the following games as guests or, alternatively, their costumes being made available:
The Battle Cats
Zenless Zone Zero
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE
The First Descendant
Halo: Infinite
Hayabusa/Dragon Armor added
AFK Arena
Street Fighter VI
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Naraka: Bladepoint
Genshin Impact
Lost Sword: Tales of Britannia
Monster Hunter: Wilds
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Kasumi as either a Fighter or (more likely) a Spirit
Fortnite
Wuthering Waves
Lastly, the following releases and re-releases would be considered crucial for the brand in order to best honor Itagaki-san, make them playable for modern hardware, and (along with this entire list) show the world that Tecmo Koei is NOT ashamed of DOA.
Xtreme Beach Volleyball 1 & 2 added to Xbox Backwards Compatibility
Dead or Alive 1 and DOA 2: HardCore added to PlayStation Plus with improved localization for the latter
Xtreme Beach Volleyball 3 – Scarlet, Venus Vacation, and Prism released internationally for Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation 4/5, & Microsoft Xbox One/Series, & Steam. An amiibo of Honoka would be released for Switch version.
Dead or Alive 1 added to GOG.com
Most of this list isn't likely to happen, I know, but I'm at least hoping that the right people at least see this. I don't want this milestone to be met with a whole bunch of nothing when there's potential to be realized, fun to be had, and money on the table.
