This is a tournament dedicated to characters who have either partial or total amnesia, they might not have a clue who they are but you do and it's your job to make sure everyone else knows them too!
Rules
. Only one character per submission but you can submit as many times as you want!
. they don't have to have amnesia for the entirety of their media but it has to be for a solid chunk of it, a couple of chapters or episode doesn't count.
. A transparent image of your character is heavily preferred but not necessary.
. At the end of the day who gets in is at my discretion, if I don't feel its right for some reason, they wont get in.
Reason for amnesia: Got fucked with by a horrifying ancient evil deity from another timeline (Grima) who had already successfully fully posessed them in said timeline. They also get some weird pseudo memories of that posessed future/alternate timeline counterpart of themselves. / Their possessed future self attacked them and tried to possess them early and it didn’t work / Incredibly Bad Parenting / weird time travel shenanigans involving another version of themself?? its complicated
Do they get their memory back?: I don't *think* they ever get any of their true own memories back, no, but true FE Awakening scholars who know all the DLC and everything might correct me on that. / No / They never do! / No
“Fun” facts: Did you know there's apparently no Female Robin amiibo? Fucked up. / They are an avatar character - so you can choose if they are male or female, their build, their hair, their eyes, etc. They can marry anyone in the game with the opposite gender and will have a child named Morgan who ALSO gets amnesia / Robin can be both male or female because they're an avatar, but they still have a really fun personality! They also may or may not be god / Most supportive MF in the land, worlds greatest tactician
SIFFRIN
Reason for amnesia: magical memory erasure / their home island was erased from the whole world's memory when they were on a boat just outside the affected area. his family, history, culture, language, everything is gone and is still actively being redacted/erased years later / All memory of their country and anything associated with it was wiped from everyone's memory. For most the cast, it's just a conversational tidbit. "How weird that no one can remember what that country was called." For Siffrin, who had borrowed his parents' boat in a running-away-from-home prank at the time the incident happened, lost everything. /
Their home island (and any memory of it) dissappeared due to wish craft
Do they get their memory back?: No / Nope / No. They occasionally remember tidbits, but if voiced outloud the universe will right itself and he won't even remember he was talking. / No
“Fun” facts: stuck in a time loop / time loop torment nexus sufferer. the magical amnesia (and trauma) gave them also more regular memory issues - they forget words and things easily, lose track of stuff, at one point he has difficulty with remembering the names of people he has been travelling with for months / They like woodcarving and walking into strangers' homes. / They are the timelooping protagonist of the game! Their favorite food is palmiers and they are allergic to pineapples!
Round 1 is seeded! It will be split into 3 parts, the first 2 containing 22 polls and the 3rd containing 20. Part 1 will be up as soon as they're ready and all polls will be up for 3 days. Reason for amnesia: Got caught and nearly killed by a life spirit, having to give up all memories to escape
Do they get their memory back?: Unknown by mod
“Fun” facts: The one thing he remembered was the name of the spirit, GInko, which he then took as his own name. His mum AND a nice lady that took him in both died within like, a few months
Reason for amnesia: Erased his own memory several dozen times after witnessing the weird shit in gravity falls

“Fun” facts: Starts as a joke background character and slowly grows in importance as the series goes on, the best character trope honestly. Goes from living in a trash site to a full mansion by the end of the series
SHADOWHEART
Reason for amnesia: She’s part of a religious group that practices memory suppression
Do they get their memory back?: iirc it depends on what you choose to do in game, but I believe she can, yes
“Fun” facts: She’s gods favorite princess, she loves night orchids, is scared of wolves, and 90% of her attacks miss but it’s ok I love her anyway
Reason for amnesia: First time: So, this guy lives in a universe where there are (very technologically advanced) fairies, but humans aren't SUPPOSED to know about them. However, he is a child genius with criminal tendencies and an inability to mind his own damn business so he got himself thoroughly entangled in their affairs. At the end of the third book the Fairy People have got fed up of his nonsense (although he has actually helped them out at time) and blackmail/bribe him into letting them selectively memory-wipe him (super high tech fairies, remember?), completely removing all his memories of their people, magic, etc. My books are in the attic and the wiki doesn't specify but if I remember RIGHTLY the book says his brain just vaguely filled in the blanks with non-fairy-related shenanigans. SECOND TIME: Several books and several years later, having entirely undone the previous memory wipe (see next box), at the end of the final book of the main series, Artemis LITERALLY DIES. His soul gets sucked out of his body due to some machinations by the main series villain. However, again, high tech fairies, and by this point they really owe him for a lot of stuff! So the series' Guy In The Chair (who happens to be a centaur named Foaly, deeply unserious series) goes away and grows a clone Artemis and some months later they manage to take the clone body back to where he got soul-yoinked and do some magic shit and put his soul BACK in the clone body to revive him! But! Of course, motherfucker just spent months being a dead soul and then suddenly yoinked back into a physical form again, so he is totally out of it and doesn't remember SHIT right away! So technically boy loses his memories TWICE. I think he should win an award for that.
Do they get their memory back?: After the first time, well, turns out the sly bastard secretly recorded himself a ton of messages and smuggled it to a friend on a CD, so in book 4 when shit goes down and the Fairy People end up having to run back to him (to be fair the villain kinda dragged him into it first) he gets his hands back on that, sits down and watches the whole thing and it restores all the memories that were wiped. The SECOND time - again, I don't have my books to hand and the wiki lacks specific detail, so this is subject to my recollection from years ago, but I believe Foaly says he SHOULD get his memories back over time, and plus his by-that-point-BFF Holly helps by telling him the stories of all their adventures :) So I believe it's implied he does get them back again!
“Fun” facts: Character of all time, commits large-scale crimes and pretends to be all cool and uncaring but is actually a scared like 12 year old trying to help his parents, has insane character development, every mental illness (including an alter at one point), hates himself, a deeply formative influence on me and he's so fucking cool with it PS: I haven't seen the movie but everything about it sounds and looks absolutely atrocious, if you've seen it please don't judge him from that Disney trainwreck
AGENT 8
Reason for amnesia: Being kidnapped after a battle and also being put into a simulation / Their memories were extracted from them in partial sanitization. The memories were compressed to mem cakes and awarded as reward for missions in the Deep Sea Metro.
Do they get their memory back?: No / Unclear. Collecting the mem cakes doesn't seem to have restored the memories fully, but Marina has been working on a virtual reality to return the mem cakes to the souls of victims of the sanitization which would return their memories too. Eight did test it out but it wasn't working properly then and nothing is said if they did get their memories back.
“Fun” facts: They like the sea breeze although they hate the sand and cannot go into the water. / Agent 8's appearance and gender is chosen by the player, but official artwork often depicts her as a girl. Agent 8 is also known as Number 10,008 or Eight.
Reason for amnesia: Was turned by a vampire to be a Battler (bat butler) and forgot his previous life
Do they get their memory back?: No
“Fun” facts: Is honestly pretty happy with his new life, the family he is sworn to treats him very well and has a good friendship with Ellga, the daughter of the family
HAL
Reason for amnesia: He had his core systems disconnected by his best friend, lost in space for years, and had his memory of the incident wiped.
Do they get their memory back?: His creator slash father got most of them back
