About the campaign

Our first session was January 13th, 2024. We meet once a month, in three groups. Each session is ran again with each group, and through magic and suspension of belief, we make it work quite well.

We have a collection on ao3 here!

We use components of 5e and Adventures in Middle Earth (a 5e branch). Now, onto the story!

It is 2986, and 9 adventurers have recived letters froma mysterious "G", asking to meet in Bree in the Prancing Pony to investigate some rumors in the North, near the ruins of Fornost. The adventurers convence, but the mysterious G can no longer come, and asks them to please still investigate, then to meet him in Rivendell to tell him what they found.

They investigate, and report to Rivendell, to the one and only Gandalf. They tell him of what they found, a group of orcs, wargs, and some nameless thing. And he tells them that it was a test, to see if they were ready... to time travel to the first age, to help the peoples there and save who they can. As they meet new friends in Rivendell, time travel back to First Age 456 and find their footing, the party grows to 15 adventurers.

They soon meet a hero of the first age, and begin their journey into the chaos and bedlam of Beleriand.

That crackship az/amren anon has me curious now lol. Will you do a headcanon about them? They are legit the only ones in the group who have this tenuous relationship.

omg ok I can do this. This is going to be… interesting.

So, Azriel and Amren (amriel):

The first time they have sex, it’s during an argument. Az has been spying on her (he doesn’t trust her, remember), and Amren confronts him about it. They end up demolishing the building they were in.

Sex with them is… the opposite of gentle. But it’s also teasing, playing. Seriously, there are no soft caresses and gentle pillow talk, but they can also laugh. There is lots of edging and cursing.

Az might try to make their relationship into something dark and self-punishing, but Amren is like screw you, you want to hurt, you can do that to yourself. I’m not here to further your self-hatred. He respects that she’s upfront about it. Amren can just tell that… he has a lot of growing to do, and indulging in that kind of activity might not be what he needs.

Also Azriel just needs someone who can deal with the darkness, and doesn’t always let him wallow in it. He doesn’t need sunshine and rainbows shoved in his face, but not-so-gentle reminders about why he needs to be strong. I think Amren might be perfect for that, really.

When Cassian finds out, he just claps Az on the back and says “good luck buddy, it was nice knowing you”.

Rhys has no idea what to say. He just sort-of… walks off in a daze.

The first time that Amren backs Azriel up in an Inner Circle discussion, he’s surprised. She isn’t sure why he should be. But he realizes that it’s nice to have someone like her in his corner.

Their relationship is not endgame. Azriel will eventually need someone who can care for him in a soft way. Amren will need someone who can devote themselves to her. But for a while, they are exactly what the other needs.
