Millennial US winemakers have established what they call the first commercially viable rooftop vineyard in New York, hoping wine harvested from the Brooklyn Naval Yard will hit the market next year.
Very cool idea, a rooftop vineyard in Brooklyn :)

Mad Vintners - Harmony Series Cont'd
As promised, to follow up on the Mad Vintners Harmony Series:
The wines were VERY interesting!
Peace to the Yeast was soothed by Budhist Chants during ferment, and it shows in the subtle characteristics, and stability in the wine. A much softer, smoother expression. Fresh, juicy berries, strawberry and rhubarb on the nose. Vibrant magenta in colour in the glass. Light on the palate, with a tight acid structure - no sign that this wine would have 14.5% alcohol! Barely there tannin - in my opinion an approachable, drink soon style wine. Definitely food friendly - Thai noodles, or chicken stir fry would be awesome. “Like the soft touch of feather on the skin.” - Winemaker Jez
Beats and Berries on the other hand was throttled by Drum and Bass during ferment - this resulted in the fermentation happening in just half the time compared to it’s counterpart - Peace to the Yeast. Bursting with funky aromas - herbal and wet leather on the nose. Deep dark purple hues stained the glass. On the front palate ripe plum and dark stone fruit, followed by lingering savoury, meaty, fleshy characteristics. A lean, refined tannin structure, and good balance made this wine my pick of the two - food match, soft tripple cream bree!

It's hot, I'm thirsty!
Declared the hottest city in the world yesterday - my home, Adelaide! What is there to do when it’s 8pm and still 41 degrees? Besides sweat of course… open a refreshing bottle of white wine!
My pick last night? A personal favourite, I just can’t break away from this awesome Marsanne Rousanne Viognier blend by John Duval called “The Plexus”. Luckily, Artisans of the Barossa is my local, so I can count on chilled bottles of the 2012 vintage to be readily available! This beautiful Rhone Valley style wine is a medium bodied white with a gorgeous richness about it. Soft and textural on the palate, with a subtle aroma of fresh fruit. Not hugely oaked as just 50% of the juice is aged in French oak barrel, this wine is suitable for most occasions! A stunning match with fresh oysters and prawns, but too easy to drink all on it’s own!
