It's hot, I'm thirsty!
Declared the hottest city in the world yesterday - my home, Adelaide! What is there to do when it’s 8pm and still 41 degrees? Besides sweat of course… open a refreshing bottle of white wine!
My pick last night? A personal favourite, I just can’t break away from this awesome Marsanne Rousanne Viognier blend by John Duval called “The Plexus”. Luckily, Artisans of the Barossa is my local, so I can count on chilled bottles of the 2012 vintage to be readily available! This beautiful Rhone Valley style wine is a medium bodied white with a gorgeous richness about it. Soft and textural on the palate, with a subtle aroma of fresh fruit. Not hugely oaked as just 50% of the juice is aged in French oak barrel, this wine is suitable for most occasions! A stunning match with fresh oysters and prawns, but too easy to drink all on it’s own!
$30 per bottle for the 2012 Vintage
