6. What’s your favourite piece of dialogue you wrote this year?
Easily this, from Got a feeling that I'm going under:
That gets a smile out of him. “Well, I was the Winter Soldier most of the time. Can’t blame anyone for not wanting to cuddle the killing machine.”
Sam scoffs. “You kidding? That’s the perfect time. All docile and shit. ‘Soldier, you be the big spoon. Come here, Siberia is so cold.’”
I can just hear it perfectly in Sam's voice and I still think it's incredibly funny.
7. What’s your favourite piece of description or narration?
For description - from Just This Once, I like the little picture this paints of Madripoor:
“Thanks,” Bucky says, taking it as Sam joins him where he’s looking at the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s dizzying to stare at too long: all flashing neon signs competing for attention, lights bright through high-rise windows. The black water beyond is broken only by the golden strip of the bridge, the sequin glint of yachts offshore.
And for narration - from Missing Scene, I remember I had this mental image/feeling and I kept trying to coax it into sentence form until I finally got here. Ugh, Sam and Bucky just always brought out the best in me.
Sam wants the wings on, wants to take Bucky flying with him; he wants to be a Biblical angel, all holy light and a hundred open eyes so he can take in every inch of Bucky at once.
