is experiencing

your own life

reflections of

YOUR OWN LIFE

like

disappointments,

anxieties,

and

fear of death,

or

maybe

this is just me

and

my

ADD

triggering me to 

think about

my own Life

and

FEAR OF DEATH

and

the truth is

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

is a hard movie to review because

people will come up with their

own conclusions

and

coming up with your

OWN CONCLUSIONS

is what I believe is one 

of the many things

is trying to accomplish,

but 

I would be a liar if I 

could tell you

everything

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

is trying to accomplish,

but I can say

the movie is

a joy 

to listen in on,

observe,

rewatch,

and

that it may take

five more viewings to

REWATCH

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

and figure out exactly

what its director

CHARLIE KAUFMAN

Is trying to say

and

CHARLIE KAUFMAN,

who wrote 

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,

and directed

Anomalisa,

is a filmmaker

who makes what he wants to make

and 

does what he wants to do,

and the result

is something

ambiguous,

thoughtful,

strange,

and

a

mind fuck of

of a movie

only 

CHARLIE KAUFMAN

can do!

هل تشعر بأنك وحيد؟ هل أردت دوما أن تملأ ذلك الفراغ ولم تستطيع؟ ..

قيل أن المنتصف هو الأصعب، لا أنت فى روعة البدايات، ولا أنت فى مهابة وحضرة النهايات..

منتصف العمر ، منتصف الصداقة، منتصف الانجاز، حيث يخبو الضوء، ويقلّ السحر، ويتلاشى الرضى، ويلحّ علينا البحث عن ذواتنا.. من نحن؟ ثم يتلاشى إتصالنا بالحاضر، يتلاشى طعم الأشخاص من حولنا، الأقرب بشكل خاص تتحول محبتنا لهم كرهًا، ويتحول اهتمامنا بهم برودًا، ونعتقد أن وجودهم أصبح ثقيلا..

حين تتشابه الوجوه والأصوات من حولك، يصبح كل شئ رتيبًا ومملا وباردًا، لا شئ يميز شخص عن شخص، لا صديق لا حبيب لا ابناء.. حتى عملك يفقد معناه، ويصبح مجرد كلمات ترددها بلا وعي..

حين تنهار دفاعاتك واحدة تلو الأخرى .. وتشعر أنك دنوت من فقد صوابك.. هل جننت؟ هل جنوا؟ هل هذه نهاية العالم؟

الأن، ولا أدري لم الأن تذكرت بكلمة أستاذ لي، أن (كلنا وحيدون).. لا تصدقين أن هناك من لا يشعر بالوحدة، فى منطقة ما، عميقا نحن نعلم أننا وحيدون، نعيش بمفردنا، ونموت بمفردنا،، ونبعث بمفردنا..

كنت أعلمها فى مرحلة ما، لكني الأن أعتقد فيها، أؤمن بها!..

هذه الوحدة التي نهرب منها كفرارنا من فكرة الموت، وكل ما يذكرنا بوحدتنا كالقبر الذي لا يتسع إلا لجسد واحد، ومسئولية كل فرد عن ذاته، وأن لا تزر وازرة وزر أخرى!!.

نبحث عن السعادة المطلقة، عن اللذة التي لا يشوبها شئ، عن صوت مختلف يعيد إلينا تلامسنا مع اللحظة من جديد.. لنحيا.. من جديد.. ..

نتمسك بذلك الشخص-الشئ وكأنه طوق النجاة من حياة لم تبدو كالحياة، نعتقد أننا عثرنا على مبتغانا، نقطع الوعود تلو الوعود، ربما لأن بداخلنا خوف لا يهدأ بأن كل ذلك مؤقت وزائل.. وأنه مهما كان جميلا فلن يملأ ذلك الخواء..

نتعلّق بقدر الخوف من الوحدة، ونتخلّى بقدر الخوف من الوحدة، ونقسو بقدر الخوف من الوحدة، ونتخلى عن ذواتنا بقدر الخوف من الوحدة..

وننصهر خوفًا..

ونحب خوفًا..

ومهما فعلنا، ومهما تواجد حولنا الناس.. ستبقى وحدتنا حق، وربما هي الإناء الذي يتسع للونس المؤقت الزائل بالأخرين..

أحيانا نريد من يذكرنا بذلك:

أن كل هذه الأفكار أوهام فى عقلك، تنسيك ما لديك، وتعدك بالخضرة على الجانب الأخر من السور ..

وأنك ولو بمفردك، فأنت كافي، ومكتمل..

Anomalisa was short and sweet and strange and heartfelt

Kaufman could not have picked a better pair of producers to work with in Dan Harmon and Dino Stamatopolous, and those two could not have picked a better writer to produce for
