Skam France S4, episode 10 my thoughts
I spent last two days in denial, reading a 900 pg drarry fanfic. But today I finally watched all the clips of episode 10 and phew!... don't I have a lot to say!
What I loved- Eid festivities- that clip was so heart warming. The Bakhellals being the perfect hosts, their clothes!! Imane's gorgeous eye make up, THE BACKGROUND MUSIC, Mama and Papa Bakhellal romancing the shit out, everyone enjoying themselves and loving each other, Elu (more on this later) basically multiculturalism at its best.
2. Imane's speech- she exemplified what Ramzan is about - redemption and growth, love and forgiveness. She accepted not only her errors but she accepted herself and her desires. Second the integration that she talked about, you guys must have noticed was not just one sided, but a simultaneous process of letting her friends into her world
3. Elu and Idriss. No I'm not yelling, but I told yaaaa'll. This hug was due a long time and though I was getting impatient, what better day than Eid to reconcile. Eliott's fear was so palpable on his face and so was the pure joy of hugging his old friend. I still feel a bit bitter though because Sofiane was not there and second, the show did not focus on the Elu conflict in place of all the Charles/Manon drama.
4. Sofimane. It finally happened. And was super realistic. Imane accepted that the differences are something that will not iron out, but finally trusted Sofiane enough to show her vulnerabilities (never having a relationship or her inexperience). The simple kiss in the end was beautiful! It also shows her growth that she believes a middle ground to be possible when in contrast previously we saw her to be on the extreme side of things.
5. The Girl gang apologized too. Period
6. They gave us a glimpse into Daphne's life when no one's looking. Basile's perceptiveness and the possibility of a new season?
I'd planned to write the negatives now only, but given the length, another post is warranted. I'd love to know your opinions, guys!
