As I write nightwatch I realize a really common theme is grief I guess.

The most common story line is - character is greiving - character destroys themselves to get back in a scenario that replicates their past - character gets worse

dream, horror, and blue all share this arc- they do this because they are greiving the deaths of their siblings- they destroy themselves to replicate those happy memories that they will never get back. Whether it be trying to get in relationships to fill that void or I guess literally trying to revive their family(cough dream)

With atrophy and horror it’s because they grieve the deaths of their abusers. They also destroy themselves similarly but this time to replicate painful memories.

Huh I guess horror is pretty fucked up huh..love that guy

But nightwatch is really grief heavy I guess. Mostly with dead siblings so if you don’t like dead siblings then I guess it’s not for you. Personally it’s my favourite plot line
