Wow Chief, that wasn't very based of you. In fact, it was kinda cringe.
WHERE ARE THE KATHRYN HAHN GIF HUNTS?
IF YOU NEED THE HD EPISODES; I HAVE THEM BUT I SUCK AT GIF MAKING.
i’ve talked to multiple people who are nervous about mail-in ballots because of Everything That Is Happening, so i just wanted to go over my experience voting by mail in the pa primary, which arguably isn’t really applicable to anything but voting by mail in the pa primary due to the patchwork of state regulations, but whatever. after the initial shock of opening an envelope only to have a shitload of papers and smaller envelopes come pouring out, it was actually pretty easy even though i was my regular flaky self every step of the way. (note: read the instructions. read all the instructions! it’s so boring, but do it.)
i requested my ballot early but didn’t mail it in until the week before the election, which was not a good look but still made me the most responsible ballot-mailer in my family. pa has a website where you can look up the status of your ballot. i’m not sure if all states have this but it’s worth seeing whether yours does! it really increased my peace of mind. i also got an email when my ballot had been received and accepted.
i mailed my ballot in pretty close to the deadline and it was fine, but i definitely wouldn’t do that in the general. if you get yours too late to be comfortable mailing it, check to see whether your state has any procedures in place to allow you to hand-deliver it! pa had both drop boxes and the option to deliver the ballot to the board of elections (note: at least for the latter, the ballot could not be dropped off by a third party, you had to go yourself)
you may also have the option to vote in person even after requesting a mail-in ballot. again, patchwork of state regulations so check your local rules for details, but if you get your ballot too late to mail it and your state doesn’t offer other drop-off options, you may be able to take your ballot to your polling place (which might have changed! check!) and either fill it out there or exchange it for an in-person ballot. if you don’t have your mail-in ballot, you might be able to cast a provisional ballot.
