🔮 🗝 Prince of Always Night?
🔮 • How emotionally intelligent are they when it comes to other people? Are they sensitive to others’ moods, or completely unaware of them?
This one is a little fun, because the Prince is sensitive to others’ moods, but he has absolutely no idea what causes them or how to handle them. He can tell what someone is feeling rather easily, but it’s hard for him to remedy a bad situation, because his idea of comfort is, uh...not very comforting.
It’s difficult to assuage someone’s fear of death and the end when you’re a semi-immortal being who oversees the passage of spirits, after all; he has blue-and-orange-tinged morality and emotional intelligence that doesn’t exactly match up to how a normal person would see things.
In other words, he makes people cry. It’s Irina. He makes Irina cry. Out of fury. And also out of sheer exhaustion and guilt and sadness.
Thanks for the ask!!

You know what? Thank you, I needed that
ooo do your merfolk maintain the enchanting singing part of siren mythology?
also, how do merfolk and succubi interact?
Sirens are actually an entirely different class of supernatural in Asylumverse. Merfolk share a common ancestry with faeries and chimera, existing somewhere between shapeshifters and water elementals.
The venn diagram of succubi (which google says should be succubae apparently, TIL lol) and merfolk is that both harness sex in their magic. I haven’t work out all the details yet, but part of how merfolk gain their land legs is through physical relationships with land dwellers. Unfortunately, those relationships can involve a lot of, well, blood, and that’s where succubi come in. Demons are very gifted with physical magic, so basically Tiffany runs around healing Liselle’s messes XD
B, D, and E for Twig
Thank you! Also off topic and kinda rambly but I spent the morning reading through your super nice tags you’ve left on my stuff and it was so lovely?? Thank you so much I’m gonna be so giddy all day from this!
B) What inspired you to create them?
I actually technically made Twig first ages ago for a different attempt at a fantasy story. She was essentially an escort npc, wanted by some weird rich people for magic reasons (can you tell I didn’t develop this story very far). I brought her back when I was trying to adapt Ollie’s story and went ‘huh I need more ✨fantasy✨’ and remembered I had a weird deer child I’d done nothing with. Very glad I did so she’s so fun to write
D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?
Mostly? I feel like in my head she was way more like.... willowy? She was based far more on fae at first, so looked a bit mor inhuman in terms of build. But as I based her off some illustrations in an old book of fae I have, the near-white hair and antlers have been there since day one (though I keep changing how her antlers look because they’re Hard To Draw)
E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?
I’d like to think so! I work with kids a lot, and I’ve found my adhd/autistic ass has always gelled better with kids like me, as well as them being glad they’re s someone who kinda Gets It. We could sort buttons together

Sorry for the late answer! Here’s one from The Bleeding of Stars! Thank you :)
The merchant huffed. “How I do my business is not your concern, hjarhda.”
“Whore? Seriously?” With a raised chin, Amaria stepped closer, and with satisfaction, she noticed a flinch in his dark eyes. He had not expected for her to understand the Xardosian tongue. “All you have to say to defend yourself is to insult me?”
For anyone who’s interested, here you can find all the snippets I posted for this ask game!
saw your tags on the worldbuilding prompt and got curious about your demons, if you want to talk about them i'd love to know more about them
Ah! Yes! I’m always happy to indulge curiosity.
[ID: a post from @wbqotd reading, “What degree of affection is considered the norm between parents and their children in your world?” and a tag from me reading, “Elves and demons are overly affectionate.” End ID]
SO
The demons from my LORE Series are just another race, like elves or Fae. They’re sort of like tieflings in their appearance, if that means anything to you; colorful skin, horns, and scales are all noteworthy traits of demons.
The reason I lumped them in with elves for this tag was because both demons and elves live for hundreds of years. There’s rumors that they’re functionally immortal, but nobody knows if that’s true or not.
(except for the demons and the elves themselves, of course, but neither race is a fan of humanity for similar reasons, so it’s not a surprise they’re somewhat shrouded in mystery)
Anyway, when you have such long lifespans, new children are a BIG deal. They don’t happen very often, so children are doted upon and spoiled by everybody in their life. Entire communities mourn when children die.
(I mean, I know humans do this too, but it’s big news and the entire town will mourn with the family for months, whereas human communities will move on after a month with just the family still grieving. Not so with demons).
