Not to sound like a parasocial freak or anything, but the dichotomy in a lot of phannies i've seen recently being pretty much summed up to a sliding scale of /neg to /pos of their public perception (except the slider is broken) is really funny?? As a new phannie (literally started like 6 months ago) it's so interesting to see people either being like omg do they know we know? Omg Dan pretending to be [this]- Phil fighting to let his inner [that] shine but it's exclusively to disregard things that Dan/Phil have stated? As if to say we think you're lying and we're laughing at you for it? [You think you can keep something from us? We ARE involved. PERSONALLY.] And on the other end people criticising new content as if they know Dan and Phil better than anyone and have exclusive rights to determine what's "real" or not and they're owed Dan and Phil™ organically, or else Dan and Phil™ are failing to provide. Too much editing or not the right jokes or not the way you would've made your sims do it.
The entire point in this whole phase is that they're open and they have their boundaries, and whatever they're willing to share with us is up to them. It's their content. It's their life. It's their story. Let them write it and butt out. If you don't like the direction they're taking because they don't exist in an untouched Gay-British-bubble and they're people who are aware of the world and have lives, go rewatch 2016 videos. Literally made a whole stage show about this parasocial shit and it's still happening 10 years later. Fml
