Remember that movie Sliding Doors, where the lead character experienced all of these possible outcomes? Last night, I feel like angels intervened, and the present me got gifted with the blessing. So, around 12:30am, deep in sleep, my husband and I were woken by a flash of light and thunderous explosion. Shaken, he grabbed a flashlight and we proceeded outside. Seems a giant tree fell...maybe struck by lightening? Who knows? What I do know is, it literally missed not only our home, but our bedroom by inches. It landed on our air conditioner and for now it looks like damage was minimal. It was hard to fall back asleep. Both of our hearts were racing. Mine is still a little floppy from the lack of sleep. What I do know is, we are blessed. Extremely blessed. Today, as the wind continues to howl I sit here extremely thankful. It has been over a half century since my Mother's unfortunate death. I always wonder what difference she would of made if she was still here. all I know is that she is looking down and watching over me. I have decided to start sharing quotes on Sunday that have touched me heart that week. I have been missing my Mom a lot this last week. She passed away a year and a half ago from breast and bone cancer. As I was sitting in a Women’s Conference this weekend, one of the presenters shared this poem talking about the angels around us. I believe that they are our ancestors who love us and are cheering us along as we go through the trials of life. There have been brief sweet moments when I have felt a little closer to her.
