Books aren't interested in who is reading them... A book will welcome any reader; any age, any background, any point of view. Books don't care if you can't understand every word in them, or if you want to skip bits or reread bits. Books welcome everyone who wants to explore them, and thankfully no one has ever worked out a way to stop that.
Anna James, Tilly and the Lost Fairytales
november 1st 2021 • it’s my last day of fall holidays, i’m by myself at home and reading pages and co —tilly and the lost fairytales. i’m wearing my super cozy pajamas and listening to an ambiance video while reading and sipping my maple syrup latte. i’m trying to make the most of today and relax as much as i can before going back to work tomorrow. everything has been going on smoothly and i’m happy at my job for the first time ever though i admit i’m being a bit anxious, but it’s nothing i can’t handle. this week i visited my grandpa at the hospital, in portugal, he’s quite sick and i’m glad i saw him and my grandma but i’m exhausted, which is why i’m trying to stay cozy at home today. reading tilly and the lost fairytales was such a good idea, it’s so cozy and i forgot how much i love to be nestled in these books. i read the first one when i was in london for the first time so these books mean a lot to me so i’m really glad to be reading book two now for believathon. i’m hoping to read lots of books but idk if i’ll manage *sighs* that’s okay though.

135. Tilly and the Bookwanderers, by Anna James
Owned: No, borrowed from a friend Page count: 384 My summary: Matilda Pages lives in her grandparents’ bookshop, after her father died and her mother disappeared. Her life is entirely normal...until one day she finds Anne of Green Gables and Alice in Wonderland hanging out in the shop. Turns out Tilly is a bookwanderer, with the power to enter her favourite stories. But the power to wander through words might lead to Tilly unearthing some secrets that others don’t want her to find... My rating: 4.5/5 My commentary:
So this was a delight. My friend passed this one on to me as exactly the kind of thing we both would have loved when we were in the target age group, and she wasn’t wrong! A bookish kid gets book-themed magic? I’m sold. The story was completely charming and I would totally be down for reading more of this series if it fell into my lap.
7 Covers in 7 Days - Day 3
This is a YA book that I absolutely loved, featuring classic fairy tale characters like Alice in Wonderland and Anne of Green Gables. I absolutely loved the cover featuring the main character, all of the different tokens representing the fairy tale characters, and the pretty colors.
Rules: Each day, I will post the cover of a book that I love and nominate someone new to start the challenge.
