9, 12, and 25 for the end of year asks!
9: Best month for you this year
weirdly, september? which is strange, because it was also the hardest month - i moved out of an apartment i loved, i had to snap-finish my dissertation and the month ended in me leaving the country, but aside from that, september was fully devoted to spending as much time as i could with people i love. my happiest memories of the year are all from those last 20 days i had in the city.
12: Talk about a new friend you made this year
@percybysshes is an angel & a legend who, without knowing or following me, messaged me out of the blue this march asking if i wanted to see les mis with her. not knowing or following her but trusting her url, i agreed to go. fast forward eight months & i can’t imagine life without her or her infuriating (if endearing) englishness; she’s generous and brilliant and incredibly inspiring. writes like an angel & sings like a mermaid. there are very, very few people i’m as comfortable around - i’ve never become anyone’s friend so fast - and i’m deeply thankful for her & all the wonderful things she’s introduced me to (including but not limited to: the only good cinderella adaptation, gin bowls, the word “perspicacious”, KJ Charles novels, and the concept of self-respect).
25: Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
(what a wonderful thing to ask!!!! thank you! :D)
irena is a character from my nano project who is the closest to an antagonist the story has. scientist, child genius who ran headfirst into the fairy realm to study creatures, & self-taught mortician of the romantic era who’s prepared to risk a war for the sake of knowledge & progress at the drop of a hat. think villanelle but it’s 1834 in a monastery full of humans cut off forever from the mortal realm
