Anne Stuart was born during the reign of her uncle King Charles II.
During her reign, Anne favoured moderate Tory politicians, who were more likely to share her Anglican religious views than their opponents, the Whigs.

Queen Anne:
Lady Marlborough: Ask me to kill for you. Queen Anne: …First of all, calm down-
Moodboard: Anne Stuart, Queen of Great-Britain and Ireland (1665-1714)
I’ve always sort of understood the ending of the favourite tbh but this rewatch has made me fully Get it.
anne’s reaction to abigail throughout the end scene is because she saw abigail squish one of the bunnies (who thankfully seemed to escape unscathed btw!) with her foot.
and abigail did that because she thinks she’s above the bunnies now. she was really kind to them before in front of anne, but now she’s managed to kick out sarah and basically become anne’s second in command, she thinks she’s untouchable and can do what she wants, even to something as special to anne as the bunnies.
and the stuff that follows is both abigail and anne realising that no. abigail isn’t above the bunnies, she’s basically the same thing as them. she’s only really considered important at this point because she’s a replacement for something anne lost.
the same way the bunnies are replacements for anne’s dead children, abigail is a replacement for sarah.
