🎁 octet: surprise gifts for the original cast [interest check!!]
hi everyone! i'm ame, a big fan of octet musical by dave malloy since 2020.
octet's upcoming film directed by lin-manuel miranda has brought upon a brand new, stellar cast for our beloved characters. however, as a fan, i have noticed a lot of newcomer fans do not know much of the original cast who has made octet what it is today. og cast members like adam bashian (ed) and justin gregory lopez (toby) have expressed their upset with this, not because they don't love the new cast, but rather they feel their efforts as the original cast aren't being recognized.
that being said, i thought of this fun idea. why not make surprise gifts like art/stories for the original cast? originally, i was going to draw my own thank you gifts, but i thought it would be cooler if we can organize a gift big bang so that on a specific day, all cast members get a ton of art all at once! :)
it would also be nice to put all these pieces in one website (like carrd) with additional messages anyone, even non-artists, would like to give the cast :3c
the details are still tentative, but i am thinking of all of these being release by around mid to late may.
