ill go first mine is like a koi pattern but its pale yellow magenta and dark purple its matte and the fins are giant and flowy like silk and my magical power is i can turn into a lesbian human and have lesbian escapades and then disapear into the sea forever and she will think about me every time she sees the beach and think of us when the waves kiss the shoreline before drawing back

Shane! (For the character HC). Tbh I wanna ask you about Shane and Ilya and David but that’s greedy.

Hiiiiii <3 thank you for giving me a reason to rant about the Guy of All Time First Impression - 'oh this little goober' I knew VERY LITTLE of heated rivalry when i first started the episode. Like, I knew my former hockey moots were Divided on it as a thing, i (thought i) knew it was riffing on hockey rpf in a way i wasn't sure how i felt about, and i knew it was smutty. I thought, initially, that the shane & ilya story was the marvel fanfic tbh - so i was looking for Steve Rogers in Shane and kinda-sorta finding it and thinking it was funny. But Shane, my love, he was a goober to me from the start.

Impression Now - HE'S JUST LIKE ME FR FR. I genuinely should have expected to be Obsessed with Shane Hollander's Whole Deal, because i was obsessed with Sidney Crosby's Whole Deal for like 8 years. Shane is my guy Friday, he contains multitudes, he's even autistic. Luckily for me I've already had enough friends go 'hey babe you know you're autistic, right?' to start recognizing it in myself bc if i had to recognize my autistic traits through Shane Hollander FOR THE FIRST TIME i would take to the woods.

Favourite Moment - The entirety of episode 6 cannot be my answer. So instead I think it's gotta be the Rose confrontation scene. Bc this is, unfortunately, another trait in Shane I recognize in myself. He folds SO QUICKLY in that scene, and it's not just bc Rose was his kinda, last ditch 'if i was ever to love a woman, it would be you' thing. He genuinely likes her, he trusts her, they've grown close enough he trusts her to See Him and when she tells him 'this is the secret you're holding' he goes 'oh shit you can see it too? it's real. you're someone I trust and you are saying it so i have to believe you.' Immediately he lets himself trust what she's saying and the denial comes crumbling and with it, the realization he wants Ilya, that it's Ilya, it's BEEN Ilya, is right there and he is helpless to it.

Idea for a story - tags: ideas for a fic i'm not writing, plot bunny, free to a good home I have SO MANY ideas for a story that I cannot write them all. Recently I've been day dreaming about hockey magic and curses and cup day wishes. And also soul-bonds. Soul Bonds that require constant touch. They cannot be apart for like 24 hoursish type thing. Bc I think it would be really fun if a Soul Bond needs like, conditions to snap into place. Like, the two people have to be touching and aligned on their purpose and goals and what they really Want. So Shane and Ilya's Soul Bond clicks at the ASG in 2017 and a Soul Bond needs touch to settle and cement it, so they have to leave the leave the ice together and get dressed together and Shane is being bitchy bc Really? Right Now? Whereas Ilya is like 'tbh I'm surprised it took this long.' / 'you expected this?' / 'You didn't?' Like yeah it could wait til the Cottage, but this is more fun.

Unpopular Opinion - I'm a hater so I have many of these, but like mostly I think he just doesn't stop being a Private Person who doesn't like PDA just bc he's now Outed. I think that's a struggle and a low-level bickering fight he and Ilya have constantly bc Ilya needs some level of Acknowledgement and Shane Would Rather Not.

Favourite Relationship - I love Shane & Rose's dynamic. I love that he has a friend he lets down his walls with and can be a little bitchy with. I think they both clicked in that like uncomplicated kids-making-friends-on-the-playground way immediately and I love writing them

Favourite Headcanon - idk about favourite, but as much as i don't think Shane is a Fighter on the ice, I do think that the intensity and the violence in the sport is something he loves. Hockey is simple, someone comes into your space and you shove them away, someone wants the Thing You Have, you keep it close and take them into the boards. And I think the older he gets the easier it is for him to take that certainty and confidence of Feeling like he Knows How To Do This, where he is supposed to be and where his boundaries are, off the ice too. Man i could talk about Shane Hollander for hours, but I have to go to bed so I will save Talking about his Husband Ilya Rozanov for tomorrow.

also i enjoyed the new scrubs eps, curious about how that's gonna go. i did irresponsibly binge the first season of you me her a few weekends ago. and then also the first season of brilliant minds a while before that. been missing a lot of shows lately bc i have almost no time to watch things. sense8, killing eve, breaking bad.

current favorite book: also no time to read! the last book i read was fucking. the long game. and that's not good. and was also over two months ago. i read a paper recently about paper wasp larval waste serving as a bioindicator for lead pollution, which i thought was very very cool. that's about all i got (Urbini et al., 2006).

current favorite video game: sensing a theme here re no free time... but i am missing disco elysium always and badly want to finish. missing kim #mykim

oddly specific thing that brings you joy: our lab experiment this term is really fun. taking measurements and doing treatments every week. exciting for me!! it's a very good group too, which helps. very very excited for the data analysis which we are getting into now :3

13. favorite writing song/artist/album of this year

hmm ive actually been writing to music a lot less this year than i have in the past bc im always in some vc these days but in terms of an album thats inspired me and made me want to write it has to be cautionary tales by charming disaster. i titled two projects from it this year (take it all on faith (from snake pit) and a castle arc draft i wrote with luneth that will probably never be properly published (from sympathetic magic)) plus its just really good for lifesteal idk. i really want to write a fic about the end of the world so i can title it smth from ragnarok rock 🙂‍↕️

The biggest would probably have to be like being abandoned / useless / unwanted. They. They just can't take it. They want to badly and so deeply to help! To be useful and helpful!! And preferably cared for but honestly... even if you hate them just so long as they still matter to you what more can they really ask for...?

🔒 - A secret they are keeping from their friends? Am I allowed to class Xink as their friend here because there's a lot of fun potential in regards to this question. I know they're not allowed to consider each other friends (just allies) but they are friendly. They... happen to be keeping a fair bit from Xink in some ways? But only what He wants / intends. Things like who 58 used to be (their old name); how the 2 of them first met (both generally and also in person); the entirety of both their prior in-person meetings. Generally just... their entire past that Xink was made to forget. 58 knows all of it, remembers it in clear deatil, but will never say a word of it to Xink because they don't want to hurt him (or get either of them in trouble). They might also sorta be keeping the fact the love (/plat) both Xai & Xink from them? Because... they're scared of what could happen if anyone ever knew that? If. If they acknowledge it within / too themselves. Last time went....... badly. So not again? Never again :')

🍔 - Favourite food? Well. Opinion hasn't really changed despite It All; they eat for the sake of their host but don't really 'get' the point of food & drink. So it's hard to say that it as any favourite in that regard? I am thinking whatever is quick & easy to both eat + make; whatever will take up the least amount of their time as possible. So probably a lot of snacks. I do however, for some reason???, feel like they might enjoy fizzy things? Sherbet, soda, those kinds of items. They would likely enjoy pop-rocks, as much as they enjoy eating anything that is.
