Guess who just turned 21?
So I’m gonna do something quite wholesome.
Two read mores in one day, I know. Sorry ^^’
I discovered in the back of my new journal, there’s a little card envelope that can be locked and unlocked with string, and its very sturdy. Its empty and for a while I couldn’t think of what to put in it. But then I had an idea. I’m gonna put memories in there. Yes, memories. Not just any memories. But memories from my friends. I’ve made some amazing friends in the past few months that I’m still getting to know and so far, they’ve been nothing but good to me.
I was talking with my mother earlier about some of my family, and how our past with them wasn’t the greatest. Not going into detail, it wasn’t great. But things are better now than it was, say, ten years ago. And looking back now, I don’t remember many positive memories, but mostly negative.
And now that I’m in a much better place now than I was 10 years ago, and that I’m growing and on the right track, its time to keep track of positive memories.
10 years from now I want something to look back at that isn’t negative.
So what I’m gonna do is, I’m gonna make note of everything that makes me happy, and put it in the envelope. With a date on the back and whoever said/did the thing and the situation/context of it. Even if its just kind words, or a small gift. Its going in there. I’m not asking for stuff to go in there, as I want these moments to happen naturally.
I need good ways to help my growth, even some friends have pointed out that I’ve grown better.
Because on an inevitable bad day I want something to look at, and remind myself that I’m surrounded by amazing people, amazing friends, that love me and want me to be happy. And the things they did because it makes me happy, moments of me making them happy.
