I just read your miracle response and wow the power of prayer and Jesus is real! It made me remember of an incident that happens a few years ago when me and my mom were hanging out and at some point she lost her 300 dollars she was keeping loosely in her pocket. We searched everywhere and her pockets but nothing. Then we were at a restaurant and my mom started praying and rubbing her pocket and praying in tongues. I was confused but soon after she pulled out the 300 I was amazed!! God is good!
That is awesome! I lose things all the time and have to pray to find them lol. I see tongues in the bible as other languages not an unknown language. In the context it was about spreading the gospel and it makes sense to spread it in other languages. It would be kind of inconvenient to speak a made up language when spreading the gospel. It doesn’t mean it can’t happen (God can do anything) or that she’s not saved.
God indeed answers prayers. I have talked even to atheists who have had answered prayers. Some of them have come to me asking me about their experience. It’s not that there’s no answers to prayers but that after their first response is that they freak out and call it coincidence. Instead of growing their faith they run away. Imagine if they actually persevered?
God doesn’t answer all people’s prayers. I have heard others tell me “God has not answered a single prayer. He either hates me or doesn’t exist”. Well the bible warns us when prayer will not be answered. So if this is indeed the word of God it shows there are times prayers are not answered.
James 1:6-7 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.
Is there hope? Of course there is still hope. I need to clarify that we don’t go to God just for answered prayers. He is not our servant but we are His servants who can ask for help. God thankfully shows us in scripture the way to get His attention. It says to humble ourselves, pray, seek and turn from evil (repentance). God promises to hear a person who follows these directions.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, ***then I will hear from heaven***, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Otherwise people will use answered prayers as “evidence for favor” and as a “licence to sin”. In fact I have heard some atheists say “I have cursed God and He has not struck me dead so He must not exist”. Meanwhile some false converts have said “I am living in sin and God has not struck me dead so He must support my sin”. In reality God is just patient and merciful. They would know that if they read the bible. It tells me that if God were to answer just anyone they would use it as an excuse to say “God has answered my prayers without repenting so He must be fine with my sins and not care about repentance or faith”. You see what I mean? I’m sure some people would repent from sins if their prayers were answered. I just think people might use it as an excuse to fall into heresies like easybelivism (no repentance), universalism (no eternal hell), works salvation (no free grace) and so on. Some people don’t mind believing in God as long as they can twist Him in their minds to agree with them. God wants to make sure people come the right way which is by faith in Christ alone in a way that produces sanctification.
