The other day I found out about a new illustrated edition of The Witching Hour that'll be released in a few months, and there are some really gorgeous arts of the main Witches that they posted on their Facebook page, wish I had the money to buy an international special edition like this, but alas...

I don’t mean to be rude, but I’ve made this rule for myself. I’ll write about my past but I won’t talk about it. I’ll turn it into art if I can, but I won’t talk about it. I won’t give it life here, outside of art, if you follow what I mean.

Trigger warning: incest.

The inconsistency bothers me. It bothers me a lot.

Me starting chapter 14 of Lasher: “yay, an Anne Rice backstory time!” (I genuinely like these monologue times)

On the second page of Julien’s narrative (emphasis mine):

“I fathered Mary Beth’s daughter Stella, as I am sure you also know, and fathered by Stella her daughter, Antha.”

Waaaaait a minute….

Going back to The Witching Hour, Carlotta said to Rowan (chapter 28): “I mean the man [Cortland] who coupled with Stella to father Antha who then …”

The Witching Hour also says in chapter 19: “Antha was born in November of 1921…” and Julien died in 1914 (chapter 17).

That’s why it was assumed Cortland was Antha’s father.

Sorry, but inconsistencies like that drive me nuts. Julien, why would you say you fathered Antha? And then never follow up on an explanation?
