Just One More Page Challenge Day 20: Glasses

College can make it difficult to read for fun, but on the bright side a lot of my for-class readings are quite interesting!

This book, Urban Life: Readings in the Anthropology of the City is for my urban anthropology class and is super engaging so far! I’m looking forward to reading more from it!

Today I learned:

So the University that I am attending, is one of only two universities in the US that has a forensic research institute AKA body farm

And apparently the institute takes on student volunteers who are waiting to meet requirements for internships!

I could not be more ecstatic at this possibility

5.3.19 // My second publication came out under my university’s Anthropology journal, & I also made the front cover! I discuss the importance of genetic testing as a major factor for healthcare in the US by using Thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder as an example. This was written for my Human Variation class last semester, & I’m incredibly thankful to be chosen as my paper is the first to be published under the Biological Anthropology section since 2 years ago. Of course, an overlapping topic under clinical lab science & anthropology. Please give it a read, if you have the time.

So excited to go back to school on Tuesday! I'll be retaking Human Osteology (I dropped it last year because I was struggling with the prof) and this time, my favorite professor is teaching it!! So pumped!!
