I made this an independent post rather than just a reblog talking about the issue with my commentation added on.
The irony of a trans man being attacked by other trans people for having a uterus tattoo is staggering. Suddenly, that tattoo can't represent anything but "I apparently love misgendering myself in order to avoid owning up to any privileges real or fabricated I may or may not have" never mind that it might symbolize survival, personal history, trauma, transitional struggles, political statement on his rights being impacted for when having a uterus , or any number of meanings.
This is just a new chapter in the body policing that was once directed at many of these same people by transmedicalists.
So let me ask the alleged "TMA/TME believing transfeminists" out there based on a book written by a woman who even admits she spoke for groups and their oppression she was in no way qualified to speak for: Would you tell your fellow trans woman or for TME/TMA believing trans men would you tell your fellow trans sister who doesn't want bottom surgery that she's not serious about her gender? If she got a tattoo of anatomy you personally find dysphoric, would you call it a "bastardization"? Claim it’s “co opting of oppressed peoples expirences or holding onto their ASAB for benefit?”, begin calling her a mockery of "real trans people" or “real trans women” because it doesn't align with your personal transition goals or ideas of womanhood which laughably reflect the white cishet binary you used to demand be brought down back in 2019 when the movement first began by gasp… FEMINISTS?
The hypocrisy would be laughable if it weren't so damaging. Do you understand how innately exorsexist, varsexist, tgncphobic and intersexist this all is as well? or do you simply not give a shit when it isn’t about you?
Not all trans men hate their vaginas, ovaries, mammaries and uteruses. Hating your genitalia isn't a qualification for being "trans enough", that's transphobic and transmedicalist rhetoric, no matter whose mouth it comes from. We've collectively established for years now why some people don't or literally can't transition how they'd prefer to, reasons we've discussed to death when transmeds and transphobes targeted us.
These include personal preference, intersex variations, allergies, medical trauma, sexual trauma, unsafe living situations, financial constraints, state laws, racism, ableism, medical gatekeeping, psychological gatekeeping, restrictions or limitations of gender affirming care due to trans medicalized or current affirming care being designed to adhere to a binary lenses of gender and sex, and last but not least dangerous interactions between hormones and existing medical conditions.
Many of you were frontline fighters against transmedicalism and transphobia when it served your interests. But now you're taking out your anguish, dysphoria, fear and anger out on your trans siblings and siding with oppressors to protect yourselves. It's a betrayal of everything we supposedly stand for as a community.
