Prompt: “If I’m a monster, what are you?” / “[Name]! Open the door!”
“Help me! Please!” It was definitely Henrik’s screams he heard, half-muffled by his bedroom door.
Marvin waved his fingers, willing his book shut with a soft ruffle of ancient, yellowed pages. He abandoned it with a sigh. Henrik was probably having nightmares again, as he often did when he finally managed to make it to sleep, which wasn’t a common occurrence nowadays, for any of them, really. Especially not him, he thought, noting the time as he left his study; just after 3AM.
“Henrik?” He called softly, approaching the doctor’s bedroom door and raising a hand to quietly knock his knuckles against it. “Henrik, wake up.”
He pressed his ear to the door, surprised to hear nothing; the wood was embarrassingly thin, and Henrik tended to be loud when dreaming.
“Henrik?” He asked again, reaching for the doorknob. Locked. “Henrik!” He exclaimed, voice rising, green sparks flying from the tips of his fingers. There was something wrong. “Open the door!”
He heard a cackle, and his blood ran cold. Stepping back, Marvin rammed his foot into the door, breaking the lock and sending it swinging open and cracking into the adjacent wall.
“You!” He snarled, stepping into the room, cat’s eyes fixed on the unconscious doctor, and the creature in his bed.
Anti held Henrik like a lover would; arms wrapped around him in an embrace that would’ve been convincing had it not been for the slender, sharp knife pressed into Henrik’s throat.
Anti cackled out a laugh that rang around the room. “Me?” He rasped, eyes wide, lit with a gleam that sent shivers down Marvin’s spine.
Marvin stalked forward, crossing the room in a few short strides. Flames crawled from his fingers to his hands, from his hands all the way up to his elbows, painting wavering, emerald patterns across the painted walls. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this,” he said. “I’m going to send you back to the hole you crawled out of, you-”
Another cackle, static-soaked and green. “Monster? Is that what you were going to say?” Anti’s form fizzed, and suddenly he was not in bed with the doctor anymore but standing right in front of Marvin, knife pointed upward at his throat. “Such a cl-i-i-i-che. Monster. Say,” he fizzed again, flickered out of existence, reappeared behind Marvin with a pop. “If I’m a monster, what are you?”
He laughed. Hysterically and loud. And he was still laughing when Marvin spun, only to find that he wasn’t there anymore, and that he was alone in that darkened room, left only with his bleeding, unconscious doctor.
Next part of the demon au! Set slightly before “A show to die for” it shows exactly how Marvin got hold of his new powers... and his obsession with Anti.

Marvin fingers the knife tucked into his pocket as he orders another drink. Virgin, for now - He’s not about to mess this up. Not tonight. It’s a song and dance he’s done before. Sit down, flirt with his chosen prey, pull them out into a dark alleyway…
But tonight, he can feel a pair of eyes burning into the back of his neck. Tonight, the hidden knife stirs with power, giving him goosebumps every time he touches it. Tonight is a test, with everything to gain and nothing to lose. At least nothing Marvin would miss, anyway.
He’s startled out of his thought as a man sits down beside him and orders two drinks, smiling nervously at Marvin as he offers him one. He looks sweet. Young. Marvin titters in thanks, smiling slow and soft. They talk, Marvin leaning ever closer, putting a casual hand on the young man’s thigh that brings a flush to his face.
“Wanna take this outside?” Marvin asks. The man stutters, nods. Marvin takes him by the hand and pulls him towards the back door, ignoring the whistles from the room behind them.
He has the man up against the wall in an instant, mouths melded together hot and heavy. He’s moaning into Marvin’s mouth within seconds, but Marvin is barely paying attention. The sound of the door opening and closing is barely audible, but to Marvin it’s every sign he needs.
This is as far as they had discussed. After this, Marvin has no idea what will happen.
Hot, heavy hands suddenly slam down over his and he rears back, right into Anti’s chest. Anti lets him, focusing on holding the shocked human. Marvin is caught between them, hand instinctively straying to the knife in his pocket.
“Wha - What the fuck, dude!” the man yelps, squirming against Anti’s grip. He doesn’t budge an inch.
“Very good, puppet.” Anti’s voice is right beside his ear, and Marvin is helpless to suppress the shiver running through his body.
“Now, I need you to cut his throat for me.”
The man stiffens, eyes wide in fear. When Marvin pulls out the knife from its hiding place, almost in a daze, fear turns to terror.
“Dude no, Please, please don’t, I have a little sister waiting for me at home, you can’t -”
“Quick and precise, puppet. Do you feel the power? Take it in. The terror makes it stronger.” He’s speaking as if the man in front of them doesn’t exist, as if they’re talking over a cup of coffee. Marvin nods, focuses back in. The man is crying, now, begging for his life. The desperation is coming off him in waves. Marvin can feel it - feel how the soul is crying out in fear, reaching out, trying to make contact with his own.
The human soul is not built for senseless violence. It shies away from cold-blooded murder, desperate to justify, to avoid. Empathy, humanity, instinct - whatever you wanted to call it. Marvin feels it reaching out, could feel his own responding, making him doubt, making him feel for this sobbing mess of a man.
Marvin snarls in disgust. He hefts the knife and slice it across the man’s throat, severing his soul’s ties with his body, leaving his own raw and shivering, violently shoving himself away from it.
Immediately Anti is there. As the body falls to the ground, the last choking breaths of a dying man sending blood pooling across the ground, Marvin can feel the soul fighting, weakening - dying. But before it withers out into nothing, Marvin feels a surge of power from the demon.
His hands shoots out and the soul tears out of the body, ragged and squirming, power pouring out of it and into Marvin’s body.
The surge fills Marvin’s body, refilling wells long depleted, sending magic coursing through his veins as sparks shoot off him. The knife falls to the ground with a clatter as his hands cramps and releases, his whole body shuddering with adrenaline and magic.
He almost chokes, disbelieving, terrified, but also more exhilarated than he's ever been. The power is surging through him fast enough that he's almost feeling dizzy.
Anti lets go off him, leaning against the wall of the alley, a satisfied grin on his face as he gestures towards the man bleeding out at their feet. "Feels good, doesn't it?" He purrs, and when Marvin turns his eyes to him they're blown wide, pupils dilated with a heady mixture of fear and lust. Anti's grin grows wider.
"I'm almost jealous," Anti says. "The first kill... Your rushing on power and adrenaline, every cell in your body on fire." He's walking towards Marvin now, all power and self-assured swagger, and Marvin should be terrified but all he can feel is heat as he steps closer, putting them only a hair's breadth apart. Anti's eyes are half-lidded. A strong shiver runs through Marvin as Anti lifts a hand to smear a spot of blood across his cheek.
"Bloodlust is a good look on you." Anti purrs, and Marvin snaps.
He seals their lips together, slick with blood, and Anti responds in an instant. Marvin is still shivering so he grabs Marvin by the ass and pulls him towards the wall, letting himself be slammed into the rough brickwork. Anti kisses rough and sharp, teeth nipping against his lips and split tongue invading Marvin’s mouth overtaking him with sensation - Holy fuck, was that a piercing?
Marvin is lost, lust and terror and adrenaline all swirling together, covering the guilt and sadness with heavy breaths and groans as they push and pull against each other. He feels like he’s about to jitter out of his skin. He feels like Anti’s hands heavy on his hips and cheek is the only thing holding him together.
He feels fucking awesome.
Anti is the one that tears away first, grin mad and wide.
“I knew you were a good choice, puppet,” he purred, and Marvin shivered in delight at the praise.
“Do we have a deal, Anti?” He said, voice shivering but strong. Anti’s eyes go black with the power of his true name as he hisses out a glitched, contorted laugh.

1. Your blog is now in my most visited on my tablet. I hope you're happy. 2. If I was to write a Marvin x Anti thing that's kinda like a sugar daddy au but more demons and hero and magicians, would you mind me tagging you?
