It really hit me while re-reading Sakuraās confession to Naruto how superficially she talks about him, even when sheās supposed to be expressing love.
She says she finally saw "Narutoās true self", and that sheās like the rest of the villagers who idolize and respect Naruto for having saved the village. She loves Naruto because she saw him becoming a powerful ninja, and she seems to think this is who Naruto is deep inside. Sheās like every Konoha citizen who considered Naruto worthless when he was a child, but loved him and admired him when she discovered that he had become a hero.
Her confession seems even more superficial when compared to Sasukeās feelings about the "mischievous prankster loser"
Sasuke understands that Naruto pulling pranks on people was a way for him to create bonds with others. He knew this from the start, and itās actually something about Naruto that touches him. Sasukeās the one who saw who Naruto is deep inside, and he likes him this way.
But Sakura isnāt able to see this. She doesnāt understand Naruto. She doesnāt even understand why Naruto wants to save Sasuke, when even Shizune (who isnāt particularly close to him) could.
She talks about Naruto like he used to be a worthless brat who turned into a beautiful butterfly. Because she doesnāt understand his motivations, she treats him like a child: she takes actions "for Narutoās sake", deciding that she has to kill Sasuke to protect gil, even when he explicitly told her he wasnāt motivated by the promise he made to her. She tries to manipulate him into not chasing after Sasuke, because sheās convinced Naruto does all of this for her, even after someone else TOLD HER that Naruto wasnāt doing it for her.
Overall, Sakura doesnāt love Naruto even as a friend. Heās more of someone she admires and can use as a support, but heās not someone she sees as a full human being. She likes the idea of him. Kinda like how she feels about Sasuke, actuallyā¦
I love how sakura and hinata fans say sns shippers are misogynists for not liking those girls and the ships when really I think me being a man-hating-radical-feminist is what makes me not like them lol. Like I have self respect which is why I don't like someone who's entire purpose is to be a man worshipping housewife from the 1950s with no backbone and doesn't stand up for herself at all (hinata) or someone who's pretty much a male in female form who mimics real creepy male behaviour to a T like constantly harassing someone and trying to force them to like you back despite constant rejects, treating them like a sexual object only, centering yourself around their life and not even actually caring about someone they claim to love (sakura). Also if you take it a step further, I can even say the reason sasuke's my favourite character is bc he's female-coded. Like almost every way he gets treated both by the narrative and by real fans is how a lot of ppl treat real women. (think they know better for him, hating him for being attractive and able to get anyone's attention, hating him for having agency and not caring what ppl think, not caring to follow paths others want him to follow, etc) these are all things that most women get hated on for irl. It also says a lot that most of his haters are male lol, while other male characters with the "coolness" factor like sasuke are still worshipped (like his own brother, kakashi, even naruto). Also gaara getting more popular after he started worshipping naruto and leaving his cool backstory and interesting character behind also proves my point. If sasuke just became a naruto fanboy halfway thru and didn't bother with his revenge and only started loving naruto (not romantically tho, ofc, bc that's gay and we're alpha males who fuck bitches only š¤) he prolly wouldn't be as hated. Just like if sakura switched her affections from sasuke to naruto halfway thru, the dudebros would stop hating her. It's all about naruto worship, and the characters who end up doing that always end up being the shell of the interesting characters they once were (like gaara, hinata was never an interesting character, she's the only one who was meant to be his cock worshipper since the beginning) and that's what makes me hate all dudebros and some female fans who think this too. Like sometimes I start hating naruto myself bc some of the sasuke only stans on tumblr make really good points about how naruto's basically a male power fantasy series. Almost everyone ends up worshipping him, and even sasuke (if you wanna see it that way) ends up doing that. I personally like equal power in relationships so I like to see them as equal in the end, but some ppl who only wanna see their self insert incel mc be worshipped, they can see it that way. Sometimes I only like naruto in sns and sasuke individually, and hate everything else about this series. Anyway that got kinda off topic but yeah.
Sakura also does not stand up for herself when it comes to Sasuke.
Hinata's body language is always timid, but Sakura's becomes one too in the presence of Sasuke. Because she tries to make Sasuke like her, but since she doesn't understand Sasuke she also doesn't understand this is not what Sasuke wants nor needs. Sasuke wouldn't like it either if Naruto acted this pathetic.
Hinata is literally a tradwife dream, she is docile, submissive, doting and her only goal in life is to support Naruto and become Naruto's girlfriend/wife and have his kids. She has no thoughts about anything else. This is what many men want from a woman. It's really pitiful to read/watch people try to come up with something in order to make Hinata look like a decent character. It all comes down to "she liked Naruto since the beginning", "she sacrificed herself for Naruto", "she has had more kids than the other female characters".
I don't know about the use of "female-coded" as a term (I talked about it at one point), I think it's the homoeroticism that largely contributes to this (especially how Sasuke is made to be desirable to both men and women). But I do see where you're coming from. Sasuke does piss off many men but a lot of it is due to incel mentality. Some of it is due to main character entitlement, as in Sasuke takes too big of a chunk out of the manga when it comes to screentime. Ironically, there are many of them who think Sasuke should have been a female character so Naruto's obsession with him wouldn't make them so uncomfortable.
I also find it annoying when so many Sakura videos I watch have men ranting about how Sakura still likes Sasuke despite the fact Naruto saved her. Like you can tell they think a man should be able to buy woman's sexual interest by making her owe them. But thankfully, I have come across also videos that make very good points about her character.
Naruto and Sasuke's fight (or more like the aftermath) annoyed some men because it was physically basically a draw and Naruto even said to Sasuke "this isn't about winning or losing". Sasuke lost to his feelings, basically him admitting defeat was him accepting to be loved by Naruto LMAO no wonder dudebros were mad. Many of them whined because they hated how Kishi had to make it so gay.
Shonen tends to be a male power fantasy. Luffy also gets everyone to fanboy/fangirl him. And shonen mcs usually have one of the worst stans for this reason. It's funny (or not) how the same pattern can be seen in every shonen fandom when it comes to the main character. There are men who self insert into them and act like everything needs to be about them, and bash other characters especially if they take even a little from their mc. Meanwhile there is a subset of women who create this yaoi harem shit around the mc, him as feminine uke bottom that every other guy just wants to rail. And they also might wrote posts on how other characters are irrelevant and boring compared to their beloved mc. It always happens. If it makes you feel better, Naruto always saw Sasuke and Iruka as different from the rest, because he didn't need to prove anything to them, they just cared for him even when he was a loser. And to Naruto, Sasuke is the best in the world. Even to Sarada he started ranting how Sasuke is hot and cool and the best shinobi in the world lol. But yes, I think Gaara and Neji lost some edge of their characters after they were saved by Naruto.
thereās just something about sakura that makes me wonder if sheās actually so out of touch with reality or if she just lies to herself to make herself feel better.
we have sakura telling sai that naruto sees sasuke as a brother (which we all know isnāt true). so, then sai mentions this information to sasuke and also later on to naruto. both react in a similar manner; they deny that the nature of their bond is brotherly.
^ here sasuke literally says that he only has one brother.
^ then a few chapters later we have sai reiterate sakuras words again, only this time he tells naruto about this. what i find very amusing here is sakuras reaction. she looks pretty miserable here as if she might know that this is just her wishful thinking. or maybe she feels bad about sai saying that sasuke doesnāt care about naruto (but tbh i doubt sakura would feel so much sympathy for naruto). maybe sheās also projecting and making it about herself (wouldnāt be ooc either tbh) by believing that if sasuke doesnāt even care about naruto then what does that mean for her? anyway, thatās not the point iām trying to make.
but then we have naruto explain how he feels about sasuke and not how others (sakura) perceive those feelings.
^ naruto doesnāt agree with saiās (actually sakuraās) sentiment here. otherwise he wouldnāt have called sasuke his friend. if he agreed he wouldāve mentioned the word ābrotherā as well but he didnāt because thatās not how he feels about sasuke. anyway, all those things naruto mentions about sasuke and why he considers him a friend etc. are things that not only sai hears but also yamato and sakura, which brings me to this:
^ sai asks why naruto would risk his life for someone like sasuke who supposedly doesnāt seem to care about him. sai also canāt seem to understand how anyone can do something without being ordered to do it. naruto wants to bring sasuke back because he cares about his well-being. he is concerned about his safety. and thatās because he loves him. so naturally naruto explains his bond to sasuke (panel above where naruto says that sasuke is the person who accepted him and his existence more than anyone).
^ now naruto says that nothing is gonna stop him from bringing sasuke back (even if it means being torn to pieces cause heās so unhinged like that LMFAO). and he says all that WHILE SAKURA IS IN HIS PRESENCE TOO!!!! she HEARS all the reasons why naruto wants to bring sasuke back and not once did naruto mention the promise he made to sakura back then when he was 12 years old. not. even. once. so, what does that mean? it means that even before naruto says out loud that itās not because of that stupid promise that heās been determined since the beginning to bring sasuke back for his own sake (and ofc for sasuke too cause ya know when he hurts he hurts too, you know the drill). and all this happened around chapter 300-something which means sakura SHOULD be aware of narutos feelings towards sasuke by now (she shouldāve known before too but sheās self-centered so thereās no room for her to think about others other than herself lol).
but apparently sheās not (who would have thought)
^ here shikamaru, neji etc. (basically konoha shinobi) have been discussing on what to do with sasuke now that heās gone rogue and sakura actually believes that naruto goes so far because heās got a crush on sakura? really? wow. imagine living in your own fantasy world and being so deep in it that you canāt even see the reality thatās right in front of you; sakura sure can relate.
^ and sakura firmly believes that naruto does everything for her sake because of what sai said here. what he said is true cause everyone depends on naruto. he feels like he has to protect each and everyone and he carries so many burdens because of that expectation everyone placed on him. so, in sakuras mind the only way to make sure naruto doesnāt further hurt himself and puts his life in danger is by proclaiming her supposed āloveā for him. cause after all thatās what naruto wants to hear, right? i mean heās a fool whoās got a crush on sakura lol.
now sakura comes up with her master plan and tells naruto that she loves him
^ obviously naruto doesnāt buy it cause heās not a āfoolā (sakuras words).
^ naruto literally furrows his eyebrows here as to indicate that sakura has absolutely no idea what sheās talking about & that naruto doesnāt do all that for her but for himself. he seems confused that sakura doesnāt get it. i mean everyone else around him gets it too but sakura doesnāt? must be nice having a friend like sakura who canāt even seem to understand your core motivation. itās just unbelievably hilarious to me how a) sakura views sasuke and narutos bond as ābrotherlyā (even with all the evidence thrown at her) and b) how - considering sakuras logic here- even if they had a ābrotherlyā bond why does she think that naruto would do all that for her and her only? she obviously thinks that they have some sort of connection but even here she thinks that their connection (them being like brothers) still isnāt as deep as narutos freaking crush on her??? the self-centeredness is astounding, wow.
luckily naruto straight up told her that itās not about that promise.
^ actually its funny coming from you sakura lol. screaming āwhy donāt you get itā when itās you who doesnāt get it, like at all. or maybe you do. maybe deep down you know but you keep living your life in denial.

Sasuke's dialogue when he asked Naruto to give his rinnegan eye to Kakashi piqued my interest, because in anime subtitle and viz translation Sasuke's line is "....by transplanting my left eye to Kakashi or someone else". The thing is, people who were awake from Infinite Tsukuyomi other than Naruto and Sasuke are just Kakashi and Sakura. Yet instead saying "...by transplanting my left eye to Kakashi or Sakura" he said "you can transplant my left eye and undo Infinite Tsukuyomi with Kakashi or whoever else I don't recall the name". XDDDD Receiving the possibly strongest doujutsu and undoing world-wide genjutsu are big tasks yet Sasuke didn't even have Sakura's name in his mind, which is appropriate for him considering Sakura's disappointing record LOL. Makes me wonder if the utter lie "my wife is not a weak woman" line is just Sasuke's lip service to (slightly) reassure Sarada.
Oh Boy!!!
Seriously??!!!
Every line was damn hilarious.... LOL.
Yet instead saying "...by transplanting my left eye to Kakashi or Sakura" he said "you can transplant my left eye and undo Infinite Tsukuyomi with Kakashi or whoever else I don't recall the name".
This is so true and I thought about it long back but never got a chance to write about it.Ā
I remember an Answer where I wrote,Ā āSasuke keeps Kakashi in a higher place than Sakura and Team Takaā. My reason behind this claim is simply because Sasuke gave a plenty of thought bubbles related to Kakashi throughout the Manga. He considers Kakashi as this strong person, he remembers his teachings and advice... He even acknowledges it just like how he wishes his eyes could be transplanted to Kakashi.Ā
But Boy.... He did none of that for Sakura. Not even once. He never thought about her exclusively which is not under the context of Team 7.Ā
āLike you are boldly claiming that Sasuke loves Sakura (ewww!!) but he never once thought about his Cherry Blossoms in the Manga. How pathetic are you all to even make this claim???!!!!āĀ
Dan and Tsunade loved each other... But Dan was thinking about Tsunade right after he got resurrected by Edo Tensei and was worrying about her when he got to know that Tsunade was fighting Madara.Ā
Now this doesnāt mean that Sasuke loves Kakashi just because he was thinking about him. My point is, If you like or admire or respect a person even as a friend... Youād just think about them at least sporadically. Which shows how irrelevant Sakura is for Sasuke.
Makes me wonder if the utter lie "my wife is not a weak woman" line is just Sasuke's lip service to (slightly) reassure Sarada.
LOL. Undeniably Yes. And I think thatās exactly how it is.Ā
Because, those words from Sasuke was what kept Sarada from not terming their relationship as āAbsolute Shamā anymore than she already suspected out to be.
i'm so scared of SĆkura stans bc if u criticize her AT ALL suddenly there are 15 people calling u a misogynist and every other name under the sun š maybe it's just the fact that she's genuinely written to be a terrible person? i know there are men who write off every female character who isn't sexualized to be "useless," who are actual misogynists, but maybe she's actually bad for other reasons and certain criticisms are valid 𤪠crazy, ik. i like her fanon personality and i ship her with Ino, but holy shit y'all will look the canon material in the face and pretend like none of it exists. just bc kishimoto can't write female characters well doesn't mean they aren't still like that š i don't care if anyone LIKES her, either! it's just scary the way some people will defend her blindly š§it's weird.
